Was at the Witton Arms last night for a Reggae show and got speaking to someone who has been working on the VP redevelopment and according to him next season they are moving the players tunnel to the centre of the Trinity Road because of the filling in of the corners of the North Stand and Witton and Trinity thoughts?

I don't agree with the decision but we can't prove this is favouritism.
The league have only agreed to moving this and the Liverpool fixture due to finals.
We haven't had a final for a fixture to be moved. No English club has been allowed to rearrange for anything before a final so they haven't been treated any better more worse than we have.

This might not be accurate, but I was told that the rescheduling was actually being pushed by the Premier league and Spurs but not Sky and if it hadn't been for Sky it would've been earlier in the week, so Sky actually pushed back against the initial request rather than supported it.so if true, not quite the Sky Big 6 conspiracy it's being made out to be.
Frustrated for the fans who already had things booked/planned, but in a football sense I think this is being blown up a bit.

Daz, not many on here have doubted Emery as a coach, there are however a few of us who have queried his tactics and team selection at times. The cup final was a perfect example. If he plays exactly the same next season we will see the issues appear again early on as teams have learnt how to set up and frustrate us.Of course this season has gone well, however I can't possibly see how the word success is used so far.

4 years ago I tried to take my own life luckily for me and my family my Postman found me and alerted the authority's.Since then I have learned to see the positives in life thanks to doctors therapists and my loving family. A doctor said to me you have roads in your life's which you can take sometimes you will take the wrong road but it's what you do when you get down that wrong road you can either carry on or make a U turn and get back on the right road.The moral to this is we went down a wrong road yesterday but all I know is we will do a U turn it's just a case of BELIEVING.

Hello. New to this forum. Have read it for many years but never had the courage to post. Thank you Villadaz for such an honest and open post, and for giving perspective on yesterday's result.
I've been attending Villa games since 1991. Over the following 30+ years we've had lots of ups and downs. Some successes, and yes some (or maybe plenty) of failures. Yesterday's game was another of those failures and it was bitterly disappointing to not turn up on such a big stage. But equally, Palace played fantastic and were more than worthy winners.
Yesterday's result doesn't mean we're awful and need to change everything from the manager down to the squad. We just got it wrong and will learn from it. Every team in the land gets it wrong from time to time. And every team in the land is always 3-4 players from being a world beater (if we get rid of X and bring in Y it'll sort it) .
All opinions are valid and fair, and emotional opinions after such a result are completely understandable. But let's not keep pouring out the negativity, something the Villa fanbase can at times (not all the time) be very good at.
We can't change yesterday, but we can believe that AVFC will learn from it and be better for that learning. I'll be there on Saturday against Fulham giving them full backing.
Emery has my full backing and regardless of Europe or no Europe next season, he will continue to improve us.

Hi Daz, so sorry to hear about your problems but relieved that you have turned the corner. I think the point you make is very valid. I also believe like you that Unai is the man for the job, just look what we have become in just over 2 seasons. We have become a side that are admired within football, pushing for CL football, cup semi finalists and CL quarter finalists.
I can remember when we were Aston Vanilla because we were easily licked, not now, 1 home defeat this season and the majority of away defeats were straight after european games.
Keep the faith the silver will come.

My last post for tonight as some are getting my back up again.Just ask yourselfs this question would you have took the CL Quater final the FA Cup Semi Final and in touching distance of our 3rd season in European football at the start of the season? Also we have no God given right to win cups or leagues there are other teams trying too also.Oh and by the way if your all that bloody good at football management why are you not in the game?And no I'm not defending that today but as I've said before we are ahead of schedule and we all know it but look at the bigger picture and you will see the Ocean.

I’d rather try win a semi final than play those tactics and still lose 3-0, if your not going all out to win a semifinal then it’s pointless fatiguing your squad in the earlier rounds when your under pressure because of European competition, had we gone out of the fa cup in the early rounds we probably would of had some better results in 1 or 2 of our league games and now be in a stronger position in the league with champions league looking more likely, instead we go into a semi playing with no ambition only to try not concede and grab a lucky goal in the second half and scrape into a final instead of really going for it, every time we play like that we get punished and we haven’t learned a thing from our big games this season,

Spot on! Something I heard was that was the 22nd time we have conceded with the first shot on target. As regarding today the whole team was poor but palace was good won everything in the middle tired performance.

It was looking a positive season most would accept that, however it will be rembered by many that we won nothing. We haven't failed at the final hurdle we have failed with two fences to go, that in any ones book can not be deemed success. Today we were outplayed out coached and yet again our slow play and inability to keep the ball made us easy picking and not for the first time. Success is measured by many things, the premier league, Champions league and fa cup failings can not in any language be deemed success.Our players today fell way short of what the loyal faithful deserved, I was embarrassed and many of those sat around me were equally unhappy with what we witnessed. My biggest concern is that Emery continues to use the same approach, which regularly leaves us vulnerable to todays tactics and he did very little to address it, if at least till it was to late. Many of us have lauded Emery, Martinez and others, so it's only right we have our say when it's simply not good enough. That starting eleven today will not achieve anything next season, a major rethink on tactics and personnel are essential in order that we can compete at the level many think where we belong.
