Looks like vist Rwanda is gonna be Villa new front shirt sponsor worth 20mil a season never herd of them but it looks like a good deal if its true.
1.) 14 Jul 2026 17:22:16
Will not be buying a shirt with that on the front of the shirt. Disappointed, but money talks.
2.) 14 Jul 2026 17:38:03
Doesn't bother me. I'll buy it. Wot do people want? We've got the biggest shirt sponsor in the Club's history. Who cares about everything else. Money talks, I'm afraid. There is too much politics coming into football as well.
{Ed001's Note - moral vacuum.}
3.) 14 Jul 2026 18:57:07
100% Jonny. Without saying what the issue is with Rwanda, anyone who uses a mobile phone or PC that is made in a certain place, or its battery, can't take any higher moral ground.
??♂️ Always remember that rant Ricky Gervais had at The Golden Globes when he said 'if ISIS started a streaming service, you (actors) would be calling your agent', & he's 100% right.
UTV.
4.) 14 Jul 2026 19:11:48
Mate, I couldn't care less. I don't live there, not my problem. Sorry. Yes, it's bad, it's the sponsor. People need to get a grip, wot do they want, Villa to accept a lower offer?
{Ed001's Note - exactly, moral vacuum. You need to get a grip, it could so easily be you and yours but no one would give a crap if it was because it would just be karma in your case quite clearly. You really are a vile person. Selfish to the extreme.}
5.) 14 Jul 2026 19:39:16
Every1 gotta go sometime. If I died id die happy and im not vile. Why should I care? Its not my fault, stuff happend there. Get over urselfs and get a grip, Jesus. Its about football, not about anything. Think eot u want about me. I couldnt give a flying f***.
{Ed001's Note - why should you care? Omg You really are a self-entitled child. Constantly throw strops when you don't get what you want but don't care about anyone else. So sad.}
6.) 14 Jul 2026 20:04:38
Maybe it's the price you have to pay with the odds of you achieving anything while the 'big 6' are stopping you? Blame the system.
UTV.
{Ed001's Note - now that I would agree with.}
7.) 14 Jul 2026 19:41:09
That's harsh Ed? Jonny has a pretty mainstream view, genocide is wrong, but selecting which genocide to care about is a bit shallow, it's going on all over, would you be kicking off if (for example) China or 'billionaires' from China invested or sponsored anything to do with your club (which they probably do) because of the treatment of the Uyghur Muslims?
UTV
{Ed001's Note - I am not kicking off about that, you clearly are unable to read that my problem is with the vile one not caring, rather than what is happening.}
8.) 14 Jul 2026 19:41:26
I'm not sure who you are venting at ed?
But everyone is entitled to their opinion and stance.
9.) 14 Jul 2026 22:28:11
Nothing going on in Rwanda that didn't happen in every country that fell under the boot of the British empire, genocide everywhere they went. but guess what this is a football page so probably best to leave the politics out of it. visit Rwanda is or has sponsored some of the biggest clubs in world football I don't see why there's any issue just because they now sponsor the villa.
you can't be sponsored by tobacco, can't have gambling but if your in the sky 6 you can cheat, buy and bribe your way to success and as city have proven with their 115 charges.
people on here talking about morals?? There's no morals in football anymore, week in week out we see and support players who do absolutely anything just to get a win be it cheating, diving for penalties, feigning injury and that's just players.
10.) 16 Jul 2026 23:37:07
Suppose everyone would be fine if Israel wanted to sponsor Villa and it'd be called the IDF stadium. Selective outrage at its finest.
11.) 17 Jul 2026 13:40:14
Not surprised to see your a United fan. Laughable.
12.) 17 Jul 2026 13:27:20
Fuser, if this page bothers you, best to go back to you own teams page, you only showed up on here to try stir the pot. visit Rwanda sponsor multiple world class teams, it's only a problem now because bitter, small minded idiots from small clubs like yourself are eating themselves with jealousy over Villa flourishing.
if you want to blame someone blame the law makers that put the restrictions in place that force clubs to deal with companies that they probably rather not be involved with in the first place.
13 Jul 2026 11:18:21
Yt gone good money 45mil.
1.) 13 Jul 2026 12:32:14
Allegedly it's £35 million, and that's chicken feed for a player who's at the peak of his powers and a current international. If he had no clause in his contract, then I don't think we would be considering any bids less than £50 million. It also seems like PSG are interested in Digne as well, so it looks like plenty are heading for the exit door.
If these rumours are true, then maybe, just maybe, Rogers stays. Not sure who is the easier player to replace though; Tielemans' ability on the ball is second to none, and I don't see too many in the PL with the same skill set playing for teams not in the top six, the one exception maybe is Wharton at Palace.
2.) 13 Jul 2026 12:40:54
And there's our big signing gone.
3.) 13 Jul 2026 13:24:18
This could be a masterstroke, obviously he'll be missed, but £35M for a 29 y/o we paid £0 for, business. ??
UTV.
4.) 13 Jul 2026 13:29:57
Came to Villa on a free. Sold for £35m.
With Digne looking like he's going back to France, does this now take pressure off re: SCR/PSR?
Not really the way we want to do business, but until we get the stadium up to 55k plus, and the commercial side is bringing in regular massive amounts of revenue, it's the only way.
5.) 13 Jul 2026 14:57:52
So, it more than balances the books, based on our purchases to date, probably gives us £20 million or so to play with, but that isn't going to get us very far. If we want to make other signings, we are going to have to shift others out the door, but hopefully squad players, not from the starting XI.
6.) 13 Jul 2026 15:06:10
The funny thing is, if he had that £35M clause from when he signed the last contract extension, then, while we were qualifying for Europe & winning a cup = ?, the rest of the football world missed out for £35M when he was worth more during that period, close to double for how important a player he is/was for us.
My glass is half full on this 1, & if, from what I've heard, Digne is off for £8M & his £150k pw gone, it's more than half full.
UTV
7.) 13 Jul 2026 18:03:44
We could have a problem very soon, and I'm normally fairly relaxed on these things.
We already needed a midfielder with Onana injured, and now there is a £15m shortfall between Tielemans and Manzambi, whilst still needing the Onana cover.
If Digne leaves for such a small amount, we need extra funds to replace him. Maatsen can't handle the full load himself (and he's rubbish).
Trying to use Pau or Mings as cover over there spells disaster.
If Martinez does leave fairly cheaply as well, then I think we are stuffed unless we sell Rogers to fund the shortfalls and his own replacement.
We already had a pretty thin squad. Selling 3-4 fringe players to cover one purchase is difficult; trying that multiple times is impossible.
8.) 13 Jul 2026 20:24:38
Rk, we are looking good financially. I think we got around 25 million for Malen, then Enzo possibly 10-15 million, Youri 36 million, Digne 8 million. Dobbin looks like he's out the door for 9 million plus add ons, that's almost 100 million in incomings. Then you have all their wages gone, plus the wages of the loan players. As it stands, we are well in the clear.
We also have Gussand to sell. I'd offer Palace Gussand and 40 million for Adam Wharton.
Remember, incomings are divided up over the length of the contract, but outgoings come off straight away. Add in the Champions League money, and it could be a very exciting season if we spend well.
I am gutted Youri is leaving though, and especially to that lot.
9.) 13 Jul 2026 21:21:18
Whack, the spread of the cost works for SCR, but not the player registration restrictions we were given for failing SCR the season before last. The restrictions also don't care about the wages either.
Assuming Manzambi is £50m and Estupinan is £20m, then we have £30m left if we don't sell more to replace Digne, and find another midfielder to allow all the new signings to be registered for Champions League.
We could find loans, but we also still need to replace the holes left by Elliott and Sancho leaving.
Assuming we effectively recoup the £35m for Guessand, we then have roughly £65m to replace 3 players plus 2 loans, 3 of those 5 players needing to be attacking players who tend to cost more.
10.) 13 Jul 2026 21:22:33
Agree, but I think we should look abroad for proven talent, Whack, cos prem prices are insane and overpriced.
11.) 14 Jul 2026 11:21:39
I think Wharton would be ideal to replace Tielemans, given Anderson sets the benchmark in terms of size of fee. We won't get him for Guessand plus £40 million. I'm not sure we would get him for Guessand plus £60 million, particularly as Palace don't want to sell, and the player seems happy where he is.
12.) 14 Jul 2026 12:53:48
Unfortunately, it seems likely that we are going to end up selling Rogers to fund 2-3 additional signings, given that most of the wide players we are being linked with seem to be north of £35 million. I can't help but wonder whether the Arsenal option of £100 million plus loans for Nwaneri and Lewis Skelly might be attractive, as it addresses 2 positions, albeit temporarily, but allows us to spend big on a Tielemans replacement.
Whatever happens next season will be a big test for Unai. He is going to have to begin the transition from an ageing, Dean Smith-heavy squad to one that's of his own making. To achieve that transition, and remain competitive with the financial restrictions we are operating under, will be an absolutely massive challenge.
12 Jul 2026 20:08:26
Well, well, well. Dave Ornstein said Villa agreed fee with Friberg for Manzambe, who 20 yrs old plays on wing and also as a 10. He's a baller. Will be a great signing, patience is all we needed.
1.) 12 Jul 2026 21:26:01
Not really that impressed with him to be honest. Decent enough, but the fee is high, which says to me that Rogers will be off sooner rather than later.
2.) 12 Jul 2026 21:43:08
Gotta agree with Mings, but if it means Rogers is off, then we got some decent wedge to spend.
UTV.
3.) 12 Jul 2026 21:59:44
Simple Math:
£59.6m (70m)
/
5 years (amortisation)
=
£11.9m per season.
(Wages are a non-issue, given who's off the books already: Sancho, Luiz, Elliott, Barry, Malen, Barrenechea).
This transfer has effectively cost Villa (#avfc) £11.9m p/a + £3-5m p/a in wages.
4.) 12 Jul 2026 22:00:33
Villa have already made nigh on £35m in sales since Jan 1st, which is the beginning of the UEFA accounting period, so the £35m profit banked already / 3 (prorated over 3 years) = an £11.7m effective boost to the allowance this period.
That basically cancels out the £11.9m annual amortisation hit from the Manzambi deal, and, let's be frank, there's still a whole window to go, so it's a non-issue.
5.) 12 Jul 2026 22:13:06
Just had a look at his isolated performance against us in the final. He also has a long throw on him, something we haven't had since the other Andy Gray back in GT times. Could be good. From what I've seen, he's more of a Rogers replacement for me. ??♂️
UTV.
6.) 12 Jul 2026 23:00:36
No, it's not ridgers replacement. Rodgers will stay, he's contracted until 2031, plus I don't think he will kick up a fuss and be a baby if he doesn't get his move.
7.) 13 Jul 2026 00:22:02
Put this another way, would you keep Rodgers or have a potential behind the No9 3 or something like Manzambi, Soule & Mbaye, all covered by selling Rodgers?
UTV.
8.) 13 Jul 2026 00:48:11
I'd keep him and add Mbaye, a cm and striker and rb, then we're sorted.
9.) 13 Jul 2026 02:47:05
Given the sanction UEFA handed Villa, part of the settlement was that Cilla needed a positive transfer balance in order to register new players for the CL. Which means several players will need to leave in order to buy others.
10.) 13 Jul 2026 07:09:49
Daz, you can't spread profit on a sale like you can a purchase price.
To cover £12m a year over five years, you need to make at least that £12m in income each and every year.
The UEFA sanctions also require us to sell players whose value is equal to or above the value of an incoming player, in order to register them for the Champions League.
If we don't make £60m in sales, then a £60m player can only play domestically.
11.) 13 Jul 2026 09:57:40
That's spot on, rk, so I think it's fairly clear Rogers is on his way. I've been told Arsenal are trying to do a deal for £100 million and include Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly on season-long loan deals.
12.) 13 Jul 2026 10:38:25
We've made 35 million in sales so far, Dobbin to Southampton for 9 million, and I expect a few fringe players to leave to generate the 60 million.
01 Jul 2026 19:39:27
Glasner to Forest nearly done would of thought he'd go to a bigger club thou, I think Forest will struggle.
17 Jun 2026 12:50:21
Any truth that Rodgers has put in transfer request? It's the noise going on. Also, I think Villa should say 150mil going price and not a penny lower. Anderson going for 130mil. Rodgers is worth more than Anderson as well.
Arsenal need to know there place and Villa need to show we can't be bullied into selling any of our best players on the cheap. If clubs want our price, pay the going rate.
1.) 17 Jun 2026 17:57:56
All B.S. I'd imagine, it's not even journo's writing the headlines anymore. It's all AI rubbish. We hold all the cards, he's under contract till 2031. If a deal happens, it's going to be a mega one, I reckon. If Arsenal want to be big boys, they're going to have to pay big boy prices.
2.) 17 Jun 2026 18:58:40
It might be rubbish, but it might not, particularly if the conditions UEFA have allegedly placed on the club at the end of last season are as reported. Irrespective of the owners giving Emery £100 million to spend, he cannot do that without securing the equivalent sum by way of sales.
If we breach that, we risk a 3-year ban from European competition. So, we are faced with a difficult choice of either boosting our spending capabilities by selling Rogers, or facing a summer of limited spending, subsidised by 2 or 3 free transfers.
3.) 18 Jun 2026 14:00:38
Option B for me, Lotm. Sell a few fringe players and reinvest the cash into some younger players our scouting department have been working on. We have at least a dozen players who could be sold. Keep Rogers, build around him. The press make so much about our financial restraints that clubs will chance their arm, hoping we are stuck.
We have Elliot Luiz and Sancho's wages off the books now, so as it stands we are well within budget on psr. Selling Rogers for big money won't solve all the problems, because it would only be one wage gone off the books.

Well for me, Unai has until the man utd game to get it right. That's around November time, easily enough time to get it right. i'm not calling for his head, but 11 games is enough and especially if we dont win a game as well which might happen as well. We are bad.
1.) 13 Sep 2026 10:53:32
As soon as things ain't going to plan you call for a manager's head. He has enough in the tank to ride this storm plus he is NOT going anywhere.
2.) 13 Sep 2026 14:06:22
So if were rock bottom by november you'd keep him and risk going down, come on daz. if we're still bottom by November and haven't won a game, he will be gone if put money on it, i dont want him to go but its not looking and before people say we did the same in the last couple of seasons we havent got them players no more this team has lost its heart n soul in 1 transfer window i would of done it slowly so we dont we dont loose our balance, its ruined now we will be lucky to finish 12th 13th.
3.) 13 Sep 2026 15:03:33
VJ said it before, if Emery read your posts he would be off. Emery every speech he makes, first thing he talks of is the fans, as long as he feels that he has the fans he will stop.
Posters on here, have called you negative, but I believe it's now gone past that. Everyone has the right of their opinion, but yours is just poison. UTV.
4.) 13 Sep 2026 16:15:40
How is it poision if were rock bottom with no wins in november u sack the manager to stay in the league last season has gone ur only as good as ur last game,4 gsmes 1 goal scored and 1 point and playing dreadfull aswell im stating facts all people keep saying is in unai we trust these are the same people that would be happy come xmas and were still rock bottom thats why i reckon november is enough time to turn it around play the new signings stop being stubborn else come november and if were still in bottom it wont br nice and fans will turn,i still thinks he walks anyway,im not poision its my opinion and its a results industry if ur not doing ur job good u get fired its simples and villa are a laughing stock only spurs are getting banterd more cos they spent 400mil,for me we will be lucky to make it in top half were not a team any more we cant defend,we dont create alot and dont look like scoring table doesnt lie.
5.) 13 Sep 2026 16:20:34
I dont care wot other posters say its my opinion, my opinions wont change cos others have different views and wots wrong with saying if results dont change by november get rid,some1 else could come in and do a good job.
6.) 14 Sep 2026 06:24:14
VJ, I know it's not the start we wanted and right now things do not look great but you should be really careful what you ‘wish for'.
This season was always going to be difficult with the changes that have had to be made but Emery is one of the top managers in world club football.
It's disappointing, we all get it, but throwing about deadlines is fickle.
12 Sep 2026 17:19:03
Get all the new signings in now. We lack pace as well. Unai is too stubborn to play them all. How are players supposed to get confidence when he doesn't play them, ie Bellis, Ruggeri, Garnacho, Mbaye, Manzambi, things are gonna get worser aswell. I reckon Jckson is awfull. Sooner Madjo comes bck the better and sticker Jckson out wide with Mbaye.
1.) 12 Sep 2026 20:44:47
VJ, Emery would want nothing more than to play all the new ones, but he can't if they are not yet fit or ready. If he rushed them in before ready, and they didn't work out, a lot of others besides you would be moaning. We have to be patient, the International break, seems to have just come at the right time.
For those having a go at Hemmings, just think he's 19, was playing u21football, now playing Premier, including the Brugge game that he'll of a lot of games for him. UTV.
12 Sep 2026 16:57:19
No1 can defend this. Its shocking. Longer this goes on the worst its gonna get, we should of played all our signings at once.
12 Sep 2026 16:23:22
We are a joke and it's getting embarrasing now, bottom of the league, no goals scored, no wins. Worrying times ahead. We are a mess. There's something not right, we sold the spine of the team and npw been found out.
Longer this goes on we're gonna be a laughing stock. I know this is early on but this is relegation form, and remember we haven't got them players that were sold to bail us out.
10 Sep 2026 11:02:27
Having a debate with my boss who 7 years younger than me, he thinks players from 80s, 90s, wouldnt be able to play in todays game. My point was that its bs. I said todays game is easy, u cant tackle, defenders are gash, pitches are like silk, diets and health stuff are a million times better, refs are fairys, rules are crap.
Where bck then rules were fine, wot are peoples thoughts im 46 and i think players would, think it would be a piece of cake in this era Souness, Keane, Robson, Guillit,
Rykarrd, Conte,
1.) 10 Sep 2026 13:41:21
VJ, I also reckon that players from earlier periods would easily play in the modern game, especially if they had modern standards in regards to health and diet.
The mere fact they were able to play on the state of the pitches back then testifies to that. I remember the pitches from the 70s being like a ploughed field, and the players running with the ball bobbling and bouncing all over the place.
I will say that more of the players of today are better technically than most of the older players, but as I said, the conditions were a lot worse for them to play with.
The only difference that I see is that there doesn't seem to be many stand-out characters in the game these days, but half the older ones were known more for what they got up to off the pitch than whilst on it. With today's improved coaching and training methods, some of the older players might have been even better, who knows! They would have definitely played longer than they did back then, retiring in their early 30s if not before.
2.) 10 Sep 2026 16:36:45
VJ, not many players fitter than Dez Bremner and Frank Carradas. They used to joke that Frank ran to training. Both used to be up and down that pitch for a full 90mins. UTV
3.) 10 Sep 2026 18:16:00
Some of the players from the 70's and 80's would spend most of the season suspended if they were playing today. The likes of Norman Hunter, Chopper Harris, Ron Yeates, Graeme Souness, Steve McMahon would have had to change their game to survive in today's environment.
14 Jul 2026 19:39:16

14 Jul 2026 16:44:25
Gk can play until they're 40, I say, give him a new contract, but try and take his wages dwn abit.
13 Jul 2026 21:22:33
Agree, but I think we should look abroad for proven talent, Whack, cos prem prices are insane and overpriced.
14 Sep 2026 12:28:53
Er no, i didnt. It's called working away, Whack.
14 Sep 2026 10:23:10
So he can keep his job if he takes us dwn which on form could happen,i can say he wont be at villa if we are still in bottom 3 without out a win come game week 20 not fans will get him out,i unai and hope he does turns it around but i dont think he will we havent got the players to turn it around the players we bought rnt better than the players we sold, which is more important staying in the prem or keeping unai sentiment means nothing staying the prem is the most important thing managers come n go,if were bottom with no wins at xmas and keep unai we deserve to go dwn.
13 Sep 2026 20:27:03
I'm moaning cos of the displays that were producing on the pitch and like i said if it carries on and we still havent won a game by november we should get rid, its different this time around we havent got those players to turn it around them days are gone i reckon i'll happily eat humble pie if I'm wrong but its different this time ur eyes dont lie i know its 4 game but we have been woeful in every game if people cant see that then i dont know wot there watching,so people would rather get relegated and keep unai at Xmas if we were still in bottom 3 and still got no wins.
The way we are playing dont see who we beat were awful maybe Coventry, Ipswich and fulham, lets hope then we pick up points u must see something others don't and a few on here even pundits ex players are worried about villa, i have my doubts cant see us winning many matches the way we play.
13 Sep 2026 17:53:57
Won a cup,2 champions league finishes aswell really rubbish that is lol.
13 Sep 2026 17:16:51
Eddie howe would be the 1 for me if results dont get better did just as good as job at Newcastle like unai.
