This Samatta isn’t exactly inspiring me tbh!
If he was so good then why’d we not try sign him in the summer instead of Wesley?
Considering Samatta outscored him by a country mile, 30+ goals!?
What does that say about us and our scouts!?
I’m always excited about new players and the potential they might have but this is yet another gamble we can not afford to take.
Pedro and Giroud! Perfect link up players for Jack and will win us games. Get them in!

Shane, I think you would agree, Deano gambled when he took Maupay to Brentford, considering his previous record.
We all take gambles in life, if they work your wonderful, if they don`t your a jerk.
I think under the circumstances, and the current situation with the availability of players, 8.5 million is going to be a bargain if the lad delivers.
My concern is whether the players we have, and the system we play is going to give Samatta the support he will need.
I am quietly confident he will score goals for us, but we still need another striker to either partner him or sit behind him.

Villadave- see how quickly we forget star quality when it's at our fingertips! -personally, I'd stick trezeguet up front, eye for a goal, a bit of trickery and with his pace, I reckon defenders would get caught out resulting in 1 or 2 penalties coming our way, worth a gamble in our predicament I think- there again, who knows what will happen before the window closes!

I happen to think that`s another good shout 82.
I don`t` dislike Trez to be honest, and I think a good run in the side would build him and his confidence.
He works hard and can be direct, worth a punt at Brighton.
Mark and I were talking about sticking a defender up top, but thinking about it Trez would probably be the better option.

Guys I get this jan transfer window isn’t ideal but the way I see it is that I’d prefer we play Kodjia or give the younger players game time rather than spending £10M on players who perhaps are no hopers.
If we are going to spend money and risk FFP punishment then make sure we give ourselves a chance of survival RATHER than spending 20-30Mill on 3 players who are punts in the dark which is what it seems is happening with us.

I’m so frustrated and angry that I’m really surprised Unai has managed to keep his marbles, and decided to stay on at Villa.
Losing Tielemans, Rodgers, and potentially losing Konsa, Martinez and Watkins soon enough has got to be a massive blow to him and his plans to make us genuine title/CL contenders tenders.
We should have been in a great position to keep all our players and add 3-4 quality players to push for more trophies, instead it looks as though we are starting from scratch again and if I’m honest I can see us struggling for top 10 next season and I can see Unai leaving very soon.
I’m so angry with SCR/PSR and the establishment who clearly have got what they wanted and are watching clubs being dismantled and thrown off the top to ensure the current establishment are securely locked in at the top without being threatened.
Disgusting and shameful that this has been allowed to happen.

I'm completely the opposite on that, Shane. Should all those players go as well, they'll be replaced, in most cases by younger players, so in the long term only good for Villa. I'm actually excited about the new season now. Think we've got more attack minded football to look forward to.

I didn’t see Rodgers going to Chelsea! Good money though, so I’m not overly disappointed.
I’m just worried we’ve got so many new players that we will struggle to get them all gelling together and all performing from the off.

You seem to be well in the know when it comes to FFP in the prem so why don’t you enlighten us Villa fans?
Give us a summery of what losses clubs in the prem can take on until they are considered to be breaking FFP.
In my opinion the media seem to regurgitate worst case scenario’s that don’t actually appear to exist? There seems to be no precedent and there seems to be no desire from the prem to give out point deductions to clubs spending more than they earn in revenue.
Seems to me that a fine is the only realistic punishment (if any at all) .
And with our owners having a combined wealth of £10billion I’m not that concerned.
So spend spend spend! Survive in the prem and pay the fine if necessary.

it just you hear that much stuff you don't what to believe and so I'm with the owners on this one, but at end of the day we spent TV money so we should be fine and with all the players getting realeased what did they expect have a squad of 14 players in the prem no chance, but we will find out hopefully because it's annoying.

I want us to try an sign the likes of Giroud
Batshuayi
Origi
Paco Alcacer
Dwight Gayle
Arturo Vidal
Daniel Podence
Could we go an get Foden on loan?
Could we get Ben Davies of Spurs?
Phil Jones would be a good buy, plenty of experience and playing in a team like Villa would get the best out of him
If we somehow managed to sign Giroud, Vidal and Phil Jones in the January transfer window I think we’d be staying up.
It might take a lot to convince Giroud and Vidal to join us in our current situation but I think it could be done.
And I don’t think the transfer fees would be out of this world even if we may have to pay top wages for them which is the biggest problem we will have.

Drunken New years post only but my opinion on potential incoming:
Danny doesn't; Not now, maybe straight from Leicester but discipline and lack of match practice means no longer suitable.
Giroud; must try, reliable target man as long as players get up to support but honestly think that's why Wesley appears to struggle.
Batshuayi; Perfect alternative to Wes, goalscoring record speaks for itself.
Vidal; World class experience, knows how to defend and pass. Age not an issue when you consider what Terry did for us (who I originally thought would be a massive concern) .
Jones; No, needs to disappear like Smalling and no better than we already have. I'd rather push for another Axel loan.
Mitrovic; Obviously an ideal but cost wise compared to Giroud/ Batshuayi/ Origi I'd rather spend on Bowen/ Benrahma.
Brewster; Potential but far from what we need right now. Better off following in the footsteps of Harry Wilson dropping down a league before joining a lowish but probably safe prem team.

Never want to lose top players, but if we are not being allowed to progress by PSR / SCR, then our best players will want to go.
80Mil + Skelly and Nwanyeri would be a great deal for us.
I'm really concerned that we'll struggle to be top 10 next season. Players are aging, and we have very few assets who will most likely be sold this summer or next summer.

The fact is we’ve signed a waste of space in Baston and there's 5yrs of proof to back that up b
If you want to delude yourself into thinking we might have someone (Baston) who might suddenly start playing to a half decent standard anything other than Saturday league then carry on on BUT why you think everyone should be so happy to have such a waster turn up at VP is beyond me!
I beg the footballing gods to prove me wrong but i'm almost certain hat Baston will struggle to play more than 5 full games for us this season let alone score 5gls.

Football now isn’t like the 70s-80s- 90s where clubs could go sign a ‘nobody’ or an untested player from non league football or from a poorer club an turn him in to a star. Just doesn’t happen nowadays.
Bastón is not a Vardy/ Wright. He has had 5yrs of doing absolutely tosh, chance after chance! Failed! where’s the positivity coming from? He’s proven to be useless for 5yrs lol.
Swansea have been desperate to get rid of him for all of them 5yrs, loaning him out and eventually giving him a free transfer. How are all them facts not giving you lot any cause for concern. Unbelievable! Dreamers!

This Baston has a poor record over the last 5yrs so I’m not impressed at all.
Struggled in the championship and already failed in the prem after Swansea paid big money for him.
Easy to say give him a chance but we can afford to take chances on players like him.
This Suso was supposed to have the contacts and pulling power to get good pedigree footballers into the club.
that isn’t happening so what’s the point of him being there!? I could have called Swansea and offered them a tenner and they’d have ripped my hands off for him.

I stand corrected El Ghazi has started 18 prem games with 3 sub appearances but still 400 less mins than Grealish. El Ghazi’s goal against Everton was a good goal as far as I’m concerned smart to tap it past the defender and then a clinical finish. So what was lucky about it!? Lol. El Ghazi’s goal against Burnley was a terrific finish! And do I care if their tap ins? Or 30 yard screamers? Do I care if Grealish scores a tap in or do care if he scores a spectacular goal like he did against ManU? No I don’t care!
The facts still stand. El Ghazi is effective, you can try an take away the fact he scored a tap in or scored a pen go for it if that backs up your opinion somehow.
But his stats you can’t take away from him. They’re second best to Grealish and Smith isn’t stupid enough to drop him for anyone unless they’re clearly better.

With all the contacts of our owners, why can they not pull strings to get high paying sponsors? Man City owners are very good at having their friends paying the club stupid money for sponsorships, so it's time we start getting more smart on these tricks. This is the only way we can get ahead of the financial constraints put on us.

ITV's coverage on a general level is poor. Lee Dixon, I think, is not capable of providing insightful information other than pointing out when he knows a full back is tired. Matterface is perhaps the worst commentator on TV and radio, who seems to write his script the day before the game gets started, and it still does not work.
Tyler, Drury, Darke, Tydesley, and Mowbray are far better.
ITV's presenters are poor (Pougs lol), and their pundits seem to be really hesitant to analyse England's performances and be critical on a constructive level. Wrighty is a wishy washy optimist regardless of England winning or losing; he's just too nice to actually do his job. ITV seem to have him around to be a cheerleader more than anything else.
Neville (similar to Rooney on BBC) tries to be critical on a constructive level, but isn't intelligent enough or smart enough to analyse the game and to express his opinion or thoughts on development of the game. Keane goes one extreme to the other and just comes out with comments to get a reaction and to goad people; he rarely has an opinion that would suggest he's had a great career as a footballer and has knowledge to pass on.
I think too many so called pundits are there because of their name and achievements as footballers and not the fact they can give good insight or analysis on a game of football.

How did Kodjia get a chance? 5 games this season is it? Mostly off the bench. But you’re more than happy to give Bastón a real chance just because he’s a fresh face for us? Who can’t kick a ball from what I’ve seen over the last 5yrs from him. And seems like Swansea think something similar.
Can’t believe how a player can be a waster for 5yrs and still get a move to a bigger club and a league above.

Pretty sure Klose was scoring 15 goals a season by time he was 22 in a poor team but I get ya point partly.
We can’t be deluding ourselves. It’s ok being disappointed with a signing(s) .
We we all support these players on the pitch but frustration needs venting and these sites are the best place to do that.
