Villa in talks to sign Wylan Cyprien he is an attacking midfielder who plays for Nice.

1.) 25 Sep 2020 20:08:34
Where did this come from Dave?

2.) 25 Sep 2020 20:29:32
Sky sports.

3.) 25 Sep 2020 20:33:37
Says the Birmingham Mail 🤣😂.

4.) 25 Sep 2020 20:43:06
As John said Aka, Sky mate.

5.) 25 Sep 2020 20:52:05
Villa 81 obviously Bham Mail up to their normal practice of of reporting articles from other sources. They never seem to do their investigations.

6.) 26 Sep 2020 19:48:02
Smith has denied the Cyprien bid.

Seems as if the flow of dubious stories has risen with transfer deadline day getting ever closer. I noticed the Palace chairman, Steve Parish, outed Sky the other day for a fictitious transfer story involving Brewster.

19 Sep 2020 16:40:46
Buendai, not playing, not on bench, apparently not injured.
I think its a possibility we may be sniffing around him.
Just a hunch, may be wrong.

1.) 19 Sep 2020 17:02:57
Just read he failed a late fitness test on a shin injury Dave.
Of course that’s not necessarily the true picture, so your hunch might be a good one mate.

2.) 19 Sep 2020 17:34:47
Hope you're right Dave, would be a great signing.

3.) 19 Sep 2020 18:06:32
I would like him onboard though Mark, someone else who can carry the ball, and be creative.
It would take some pressure off Jack.

4.) 19 Sep 2020 18:18:45
Yeah Moose, I think he would be a great signing mate.

5.) 19 Sep 2020 18:23:41
For sure Dave, he would be a welcome addition.
We would have 2 Emi’s then, lol, maybe we’ll get an Oscar next 😂.

6.) 19 Sep 2020 19:01:37
Just watched a video of him and besides being a good ball carrier he also has a devastating long pass.

7.) 19 Sep 2020 19:37:38
Whenever I watched Norwich last season he was quality and definitely someone we should be interested in.

8.) 19 Sep 2020 19:53:16
I have read recently that Buendia is definitely on our shortlist from one who is supposedly ITK.

If we did get him, the thought may be to utilise him in the centre just as much as the flank. In fact if he and Rashica both came in, one of the newbies or Grealish would have to sit on the bench, probably in turn.

17 Sep 2020 17:40:14
Burton Albion have signed Vassilev on a one year loan.
It should be good for him, good luck Indiana.

1.) 17 Sep 2020 18:25:08
Indie off on another quest for a Mythological artifact Dave?
Not sure he’ll find one in Burton
Hopefully he will start finding the back of the net though 😂.

2.) 17 Sep 2020 19:12:40
I’ll have you know Burton is a very nice place, home of Marstons Brewery 🍺 I live just down the road.

3.) 17 Sep 2020 19:13:31
That`s a cracker Mark, I don`t think he will ever be a prolific goal scorer, maybe a bit like a Lee Hendrie.

4.) 17 Sep 2020 19:43:37
I hope it doesn’t prove to be his Temple of doom 😂.
You’re right John the beer is definitely a plus point 👍.

5.) 17 Sep 2020 21:20:55
Should be a good move for him, he reminds me a lot of Andreas Weimenn . Busy player lots of energy and the game time at Burton, will do him good . I wouldn’t think the physical side of their game will faze him, because his time as sub, he certainly put hisself about .
Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

6.) 17 Sep 2020 23:33:06
Agree with others. Vassilev should benefit from competitive game time and I wish him all the best.

7.) 18 Sep 2020 14:24:29
Good move for him!

Small world Villajohn. I’m in Burton too! Well Tutbury now, but used to live in one of the new houses they built where the old Eton Park ground stood 👍🏼.

8.) 18 Sep 2020 18:00:41
Good to know Ant 👍.

16 Sep 2020 16:56:00
Apparently we are considering a move for Rico Henry.
Looking at Taylor last night, I should think so, crap.
I think a center back should also be considered in my opinion, as I am losing confidence in Mings and Hause, strolling around as if they have made the big time, wake up.

1.) 16 Sep 2020 17:56:19
Apparently Taylor's contract is up next summer so if we don't get an l/ b to back up Targett now, we'll need to in the next window. Don't now much about Henry except he's another of Deano's pets.

2.) 16 Sep 2020 19:31:55
Henry is quick and powerful. Pretty steady defensively but not afraid to get forward and join the attack.
He's been a regular 7/ 8 out of 10 in the championship. Only minor concern is the long injury layoff he had.
He's at least as good as Targett though so if the rumoured £7mill is true then it's a snip and we should jump at it.

3.) 16 Sep 2020 20:02:05
Do you see a lot of him then rk, you sound as though you are well up on him.

4.) 17 Sep 2020 11:53:22
I've caught enough glimpses over the last couple of years with games on in the background and from watching the highlights shows when we were down there. Most of the regular championship pundits always seem to make a point about his consistency also.

Probably won't be a world beater but world class left backs are almost non-existent these days and someone his level for that price is a no-brainer imo.

5.) 17 Sep 2020 17:32:07
Agree mate.

12 Sep 2020 19:59:19
Arsenal have accepted 16 mil for Martinez.
Amazing, get in.

1.) 12 Sep 2020 20:24:59
I believe it is £16m plus add ons making £20m.

2.) 12 Sep 2020 20:34:52
Of course Aka, the wife has her doubts as well mate.

16 Jan 2021 11:45:23
It seems that most teams supporters have a name for opposing fans grounds and fans themselves.
Leeds could be Bellend Road 😂😂.

1.) 16 Jan 2021 12:00:04
I suppose that would appropriately make their supporters Bellenders Dave 😂😂.

2.) 16 Jan 2021 12:34:31
Spot on Mark 😂😂 love it mate.

11 Jan 2021 14:41:58
Why is it with our club, we only seem to be able to loan players out.
And if we do sell, 90% of the time it is for a loss.
I know things are slowly changing, and we are trying to amend this problem, but it still looks to be happening in our club, ie Guilbert.
We need to be taking every opportunity to move unwanted players out permanently, and free up some space, and generate some cash.

1.) 11 Jan 2021 17:38:43
I agree with that sentiment Dave. Re Guilbert, I really like him as a player, 100% commitment whenever he plays, if he's had a fallout with Deano, fair enough, try and get him off the books and get as much as we can for him. What I'm hoping tho is that with Elmo coming to the end of his contract, he sees Guilbert as 2nd choice but is happy with Elmo providing cover for Cash whilst Guilbert gets regular playing time elsewhere and will be ready next season to push Cash for that starting berth rather than sitting on our bench. Also his bench space could be taken up by one of the promising youngsters, ditto Taylor's place and possibly Hourihane or Nakamba.

2.) 11 Jan 2021 18:02:27
I don’t think if we sold Guilbert we would make a loss, purely for the fact we didn’t pay a lot for him. If he does go out on loan though, and he does well, we could get more in 6 months time.

3.) 11 Jan 2021 18:04:39
This could be a case of Guilbert wanting the loan move Dave.
He’s 26, coming up to his peak and not getting a look in.
I wouldn’t blame him for wanting to try and get regular football elsewhere.
If he goes out and does well, I think we’ll get back what we paid for him in the Summer transfer window, whereas if he stays and is hardly used, he may not have very much appeal. He is a player who gives 100% and may do well out on loan. I feel a bit sorry for him because he did ok last season, but Matty Cash is clearly better, and Elmo offers more experience. At the end of the day we didn’t pay big bucks for him and should hopefully, ultimately get back what we paid for him.
Looking ahead to next season for right back cover for Cash, it’s unlikely that Elmo will get an extension to his contract and will probably depart. However, Kaine Kessler has been very impressive for the u23’s and it wouldn’t surprise me if he is given the task of being Cash’s back up.
Of course, if Guilbert does exceptionally well, they could even bring him back.

4.) 11 Jan 2021 18:13:39
Dave if I am honest I think it’s because our approach to transfers up until very recently appears to have been haphazard at best with no real strategy behind it and we have had some spectacular own goals McCormack and Kalinic to name but two however I think our approach now means that will no longer be the case and if we were to sell any of Mc Ginn, Luiz, Mings, Konsa, I think we would make significant returns on our outlay. In the transfer stakes it’s you win some you lose some.

5.) 11 Jan 2021 18:40:44
It's not just us now Dave, even the big boys are stuck with loans as the only option. Funds on the continent have dried up so only the big hitters can afford to buy.
No Prem club were interested so would have been Championship or European League meaning our only option was to loan.
Unfortunately, if you're not open to selling a first team player then you probably won't get a transfer fee these days.

6.) 11 Jan 2021 18:53:59
I think it’s just a means to get his wages off the bill until the summer when Elmo go’s makes perfect sense to have him playing regularly until we need him, will make even more sense if there’s a recall clause in it if we lose a player to injury.

7.) 11 Jan 2021 18:59:02
Thank you guys, some good analogies, I like Guilbert and would like him to establish a genuine battle for the number 2 slot.
Problem being if Deano offers Elmo some sort of sweetener to say put, if that were to happen, Guilbert would fester for another season.

8.) 11 Jan 2021 19:17:05
How long is left of Freddie’s contract? I couldn’t see dean keeping Elmo he don’t get enough game time either way, I seen a suggestion further up that I liked about having Freddie and matty playing on the same side when we need that bit more protection, like in the Leeds game I think we would of benefited majorly having those 2 on the pitch, both can run also meaning they could easily swap back and forth between RB and RMF.

08 Jan 2021 14:31:07
Make of this what you will?
Christian Purslow reveals extent of C.V. outbreak at VP.
In the course of two sets of testing this week, we went from clear, to 9, to 14 (positive tests) in a six day period.
He was questioned later how many players tested positive as of yesterday, he then said Ten I think.

{Ed033's Note - How about if the 'test' is 'incorrect'?

1.) 08 Jan 2021 15:01:54
The test probably is Ed, and that is my point, he has not been clear in his answer.
Tests are false far more than they are correct.
How can you test positive up one nostril and negative up the other, that has happened more than once.

{Ed033's Note - Right, either the test is not fit for purpose or the testing centre contains Wolves fans? :)

2.) 08 Jan 2021 16:27:18
I'm not saying it's not out there I do believe it is as I've had 2 Releatives die from it one Wednesday just gone but I also know 2 people who went to go for a test but couldn't make it for unforeseen circumstances and they got their results back to say they was positive if anyone can tell me how that worked I would be eternally grateful.

3.) 08 Jan 2021 17:06:30
Very sorry to hear that Daz, my condolences to you and your family.

4.) 08 Jan 2021 17:15:43
I’ve heard of that aswell Daz, people missing tests and then getting a text to say they are positive.

5.) 08 Jan 2021 17:36:08
Cheers Dave he did have other issues wrong with him him and his wife had it but she is ok now they lost their daughter when she was 19 to Cystic Fibrosis so they have been through the mill so to speak. I just wish it would F Off so people can go and enjoy their lifes again and not be worried by it. With regards to you Chris it just makes you think about the right numbers being spouted about with regards the test. i'm not into conspiracy theories but it does make you think I mean I spoke to a nurse who I know quite well and what she told me was that the NHS have to pay for a Autopsy over a £1000 for one but if C.V. goes on the Death Certificate they don't have to pay I also know that so far this year that in Solihull not one person has died from C.V. alone all have underlying health issues I know this as my sons Girlfriend works for births and deaths regestering for Solihull Council and that's what she has said. But on the other hand I know that hospitals are near full to capacity .

6.) 08 Jan 2021 19:11:38
Again mate sad to hear your news.
Daz, I am a very big sceptic, and because of that I am classed or accused of being a conspiracy theorist.
We all have a right to question, if we do not question, we get bullied and cast aside.
As the saying goes, It’s Easier to Fool the People, Than it is to Convince Them That They Have Been Fooled.
And that happens a lot, without us questioning and trying to find out the truth, and the reason behind it.

06 Jan 2021 15:32:59
How about slapping a bid in for unsettled Dele Alli.
He is younger, can do the same job as Ross Barkley, scores more goals, and is less of an injury liability.
Just an idea, we looked at him when he was at MKD.
He would be more expensive granted, but at 24 could be a good move.
Agreed, wages could be a problem, but as they say nothing ventured nothing gained.

1.) 06 Jan 2021 16:29:52
Think he'll follow Poch to PSG but a good call and maybe just needs a fresh start, friends with Jack as well. Also be tempted to try for Beundia, able to play anywhere in that front 3 behind Watkins. I know Norwich have said they won't sell in January but I'd try as he'll be a wanted man in the summer with the likes of Arsenal (no laughing at the back 😁) interested.

2.) 06 Jan 2021 16:45:23
Yeah I said Beundia the other night and only Whacky responded.
I think Beundia and Divock Origi, would give us so much up top, teams would have to sit up and take notice.

3.) 06 Jan 2021 17:03:09
I really liked Alli when he first went to Spurs but for some reason he has gone backwards in the last couple of seasons with rumours that his attitude isn’t right, given his initial impact something has clearly gone wrong somewhere whether it’s with Alli himself or with Mourinho who knows, so I think given that I wouldn’t want to risk upsetting the camaraderie in the dressing room I would probably opt for Barkley although I do agree with Moose that if he goes anywhere I think PSG is the likely destination. The good thing though is that we are attracting a better class of rumour than we have for a while🤣🤣.

4.) 06 Jan 2021 17:15:41
A shame we didn’t go for Eze in the Summer while the asking price was reasonable. The more I see him play, the more he looks quality.

5.) 06 Jan 2021 17:43:16
I agree Mark and I think Osayi -Samuel is another one who may be worth a punt, can play a number of positions is 23 and as he is entering the last 6 months of his contract won’t sign another and therefore wouldn’t cost the earth either.

6.) 06 Jan 2021 17:48:15
I am with you on that Mark 100%, Eze is a really good player.
Trick missed me thinks.

7.) 06 Jan 2021 17:53:17
Villajohn how about Andy Carroll? Does that restore the balance? 🤔😂😂😂.

8.) 06 Jan 2021 18:12:39
Would anyone consider a short term loan for Igahlo? At least until Wesley gets up to speed, give us good cover and we were interested last January. Could then send Davis out on loan to get some regular game time.

9.) 06 Jan 2021 18:48:23
I must say I did state that I liked Davis, BUT I think the only place I would send him out to, is a damn lockup garage, and have him trying to hit the doors from 20ft.
I hold my hand up and have to say, he is never a striker, I mean 58 games with a 2 goal return 👎 shocking, Blimey Mark Bosnich, Paul Robinson, and Alex Stepney scored that many, and they were in goal. 😂😂😂.

10.) 06 Jan 2021 18:54:00
He’s not had a great deal of success an Man U, but he doesn’t appear to have had that many opportunities.
He was prolific at Watford however an has a good scoring rate for Nigeria.
From what I’ve read, I don’t think Deano has any intention of loaning Davis out but Igahlo on loan as another option might be worth a punt, and I would imagine United would be open to the idea Moose, so good shout mate.

11.) 06 Jan 2021 18:56:07
Oh and we’ve spelt his name wrong, it’s Ighalo.

12.) 06 Jan 2021 19:10:20
Damn foreigners and there spelling 😂😂😂 think he's only on loan at Utd anyway and the few times he got a chance post lockdown he looked quite a handful. And yes Dave if Davis can't score playing regularly in the championship if he's sent on loan he may as well take up knitting 😁.

{Ed001's Note - he is on loan you are right.}

13.) 06 Jan 2021 19:36:27
I like Alli, been miss managed massively at time. Had the season of his life playing in one role and has rarely been played there since, shame for him. Attitude is sometimes questionable however.

Also been banging the drum for Buendia for some time, if the reported 25mil fee is correct, for his age and ability I think it is well worth it.

14.) 06 Jan 2021 19:44:31
Hey guys how about dasilva, Brentford Young midfielder going to be good, buendia, and orgi, good shouts but what about, shaquri, or toney.

15.) 06 Jan 2021 19:54:37
Also deeney I know it's controversial but he knows where the net is and is a good player.

16.) 07 Jan 2021 13:05:12
I did say on this site back in the summer that we should have bought in Toney from Peterborough. Trouble with Deano is that he never listens to me. Can't see Brentford letting him go at this point of the season given his goal scoring record.

04 Jan 2021 21:18:03
Just to add to last nights thinking on signing Divock Origi, I would also make a move for the talented Emiliano Buendía.
With him we would have a ready made replacement for Jack, should that day ever come.
With those two on board we would be in a really good place.

1.) 04 Jan 2021 22:08:55
Good shouts Dave.

That was mainly because El Ghazi was not performing, and he always looked disinterested, he has now found another mojo, and we did not have Traore back then either.
Its all about opinions mate, and how we individually see things mate.

I think there may be some validity in this rumour whacky.
Trez has some ties with the guy at Galatasaray, having already worked with him.
this is not the first time this has surfaced, so I would not hold your breath on this happening, if not now possibly the summer.

Hi Scotty, we also have to take into account, we have had a huge disruption with our momentum, and an challenge within the camp, that although they are fit young men, will surely affect their stamina.
Looking forward to it, and hopeful we can have a slight rub of the green for a change.

My son-in -law is a real avid Liverpool supporter, and gets very annoyed at Liverpool`s ability to break teams down.
Parking the bus does not make you impregnable, 99% of the time class will usually tell, but its not.
As good as they are, something is not missing.
