Luiz/McKennie swap being touted.
Really not sure about this one. Seems we lose more than we gain unless there is a significant cash adjustment in our favour.
What sort of value are we looking at? £15m, £20m, £25m, £30m or more?
Latest valuations online suggest €25m for McKennie and €60m for Luiz so £25-30m would seem to be cash value.

So allegedly some details have emerged of our shirt deal with adidas.
One detail is if we sell 300, 000 shirts we get an additional £7-8m.
If that's correct, I'm starting the cause, "buy a shirt support your club"!
At £75 a go that means we'll get 35% of the revenue.
Shirt is probably going to be £90+ though.
That will be too much for some.
Just hope they don't do something crass like a rainbow lion on the back .

You can see the games and injuries are catching up with us now. We can't expect the players to keep putting in the level of performances we've seen this season. We've played 46 games (I think) in the regular season and hopefully we'll have played 52 by the end of May with some silverware to show for it.
It's going to be tough and I think we might have to prioritise some games now.
Another 4 points might just be enough in the Prem to give us 4th place.
Martinez was out for Thursday anyway so good game time for Olsen.

Of all the signings we made in the summer only Onana makes the starting 11.
What does that say about our transfer business?
Players do need time to bed in but we're 6 games in now plus the friendlies and cup games. Why did we buy some of these players? Maatsen, Barkley, Philogene (who was terrible when he came on yesterday - not convinced at all) and Kosta Nedeljković (I know we bought him last Jan). Surely he's better than Konsa at right back?

Only biddace is a bad signing, barkley good squad player, onnana, quality, maatsen is class aswell just digne is playing class, neldelkovic is young and needs time and patience same with bogarde, and maybe biddace, unai knows what he is doing, i do think we are need a class winger striker thou we haven't replaced diaby and we miss him aswell because bailey is not at it yeryet

Jonny, many of us on here were disappointed with our transfer purchases. I thought we needed at least four top class players, Onana if you can call him top class is the only one who starts. Everyone knows we needed a right back, striker, winger. This is now pretty obvious. We appear to have the old Bailey back, he definitely isn't the player we were all raving about last season, hopefully Emery gets him back to his excellent form from last season. I think Ramsey is also off the mark.All of this added with our poor defensive frailties makes us look pretty average at times. Let's hope everyone steps up on Wednesday, this would give us a great boost. The teams we have beaten so far are most of the poorest sides, the league table tells us this. Quality sides will make us pay and our Bogey side are in town Sunday, as poor as they are I wouldn't back us at the bookies with our current defence.

Well Scotty, I will give you your due, nobody can say you are nothing if not consistent. In terms of your points I think we are all with you in terms of wanting 4 quality signings however PSR put paid to any chances of that happening. In terms of the signings we have made Onana is a classy defensive midfielder different to Luiz, he screens the back four more effectively and provides an aerial threat at both ends of the park. Maatsen played in the CL final last year, he is quick and I think he will be our first choice left back before seasons end. I do agree re-signing Philogene was a mistake, but Barkley as a squad player for £5 million was a snip (and that’s coming from someone whose not Barkley’s biggest fan) Re Bailey it is difficult for any player to be consistent 100% of the time, added to that he’s coming back from injury but let’s not forget the great cross he produced for Watkins goal yesterday. Personally I’m not sure what your problem with Ramsey is his performances have been ok as far as I’m concerned. Again I take your point re right back but it’s not as though we didn’t try to secure a right back but for whatever reason it didn’t happen but we have 13 points from our first 6 PL games, and as for that being against some of the poorest sides really! Arsenal? West Ham? and even if they were you can only beat what’s in front of you. We are through to the next round of the cup and we won our first CL match away from home! what more were you expecting for gods sake.

LOTM poorest sides are West Ham, Everton, Wolves, Ipswich, Leicester, we lost to Arsenal, so I really don't understand your point. What am I expecting, a team that finished top four last season able to defend consistently in order that we can compete for a top four position. What I am currently seeing are a defence and a goalkeeper that will not, based on what I am seeing compete against the top teams. I can't understand when the obvious is so glaring that everything is ok when it patently isn't.

Our defence isn't that bad, were not loseing so who cares, no mings, no cash, no kamara so that's most our defence combo, we have 13 points after 6 games and people moaning, its the prem, yes we maybe should of won away from home but a point isn't so bad ipswhich will take points off teams, we are well placed to get top4 again and maybe win a cup, yes i would like a few clean sheets but its not the end of the world, we are a quality side scotty i think you think were not and teams will roll over us, were not even in our best form yet wait until after 10/15 games when we are at like the last 2 seasons under unai, our squad is better than last season and in onnana better than dougie and maatsen will be better than digne

West Ham are not a bad side they will be top half come the end of the season. My point is threefold firstly you are consistently critical of YOUR team (allegedly) . Secondly I think over the years I have been on this site I struggle to think of a player you haven’t criticised often unfairly a classic example being how you used to get stuck into Luiz (pre Emery) and thirdly I think if Jesus Christ played for us you would crucify him again! The glass is more than half full not empty.

Going to weigh in with my 2 cents, I agree with a lot of what’s being said on this thread, even with the Ramsey comments I think he could be doing more, I was disappointed with him on Sunday I though he stopped way to many of our attacks by turning back and not being brave enough, he did however help create the first goal, I think back to the arsenal game and we were every bit as good as them in that game apart from Watkins, I think if we played them now with Watkins finding his mojo we would of beaten them, I don’t know how the Bayern game will go but I think we will take points off united, we have a habit of putting in performances to match the level of team we play, I think the poorer teams drag us down to their level but the better teams make us up our game, I think we are in for a season of competing well with every team we play but I don’t see us blowing teams away that we should be easily beating on paper if you know what I mean.
4 wins a draw and a loss is not a bad return in the the premier league plus 2 cup wins, it’s a very decent start to the season and our best start in a long time whoever the competition may be.
I do really wish we had brought in a digne, Moreno level RB though I think that would of made it a much better window.

I keep saying that our defence is poor but nobody listens. We cannot continue to concede goals like we do and expect to win games.
I don't know what the defence team work on but it isn't working.

The Sterling rumour seems to be gathering some traction. Undoubtedly a good player on his day (fewer and further between now) but are those days behind him?
I wouldn’t want him if it meant letting Duran go especially in the opposite direction. Chelsea would definitely be getting the better of the deal in that scenario.

@Nebu if Mings returns the player he was before his injury, I agree, but it is an unknown at this stage. Not saying we should buy just in case but we might have to if he struggles in pre-season if he even features?

Certainly appears like he has honoured his obligation with us.
Let’s hope he’s the player we all want him to be now. Not many Everton fans seem too upset about him leaving, certainly not for the fee we’ve paid.

Think he’s going. Will be c£50m plus add ons in my opinion.

To be fair RK, Tielemens didn’t have a great start to his Villa career. In fact early on last season rumours were circling he wanted out.
That said he appears to be playing his best football for us right now and worthy of his place in the team.
A great performance and a great night overall.
