Brilliant bit of nonsense going on over social media. A Turkish journalist posted on X that Digne was going to Galatasary on loan. Digne swiftly issued a denial wherein the journo posted a screenshot of the letter from Galatasary to Villa outlining the terms of the loan. Perhaps Monchi forgot to tell Lucas something .
1.) 07 Aug 2024 17:22:53
Nobody has to tell Digne anything until the offer is accepted.
Someone forgot to tell the reporter that a letter from Galatasary asking if Digne is available means nothing. There isn't even a guarantee that it was actually sent to Villa, it could easily just be a draft.
2.) 07 Aug 2024 23:31:46
Hands up who wants to keep Digne then? Just flagging up the rumours RK. ?
3.) 08 Aug 2024 08:33:32
Digne is one of our highest earners therefore given we have Maatsen and Moreno who are left backs it makes sense for us to sell him if we can
4.) 10 Aug 2024 18:46:39
I actually thought Digne was one of our better players last year and I would prefer to probably keep him over Moreno (I don’t have anything against Moreno either, just think Digne is better suited to the prem) but I guess if there’s a significant wage difference between them, then I understand why it would be Digne to leave of the pair.
5.) 10 Aug 2024 21:04:29
I agree Nebuchadnezzar, we were at our best in the first part of last season and that was when Moreno was injured, looking at the minutes that have being shared out it looks like matsen and digne will be our left backs, Moreno seems to be the one that more fancies a move aswel.

Rumour has it that we have reached a deal with Chelsea for Lukaku, but he's holding out because he wants to join Napoli. ?
31 Jul 2024 11:28:18
According to the BBC, we have submitted a bid for Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier and we're also interested in Jean-Philippe Mateta from Palace. Certainly looks like we're looking for another striker then ?
1.) 07 Aug 2024 22:02:08
Just hope the ffp rumours are not correct
And we have to sell a certain mr Watkins!
For me it’s talksport talking rubbish but you never know
22 Jul 2024 11:25:58
According to The Sun (always reliable?) we are looking to replace Diaby with Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix. At least there's plenty of other Portuguese he can hang around with in the Midlands?
12 Jul 2024 15:29:05
Chambers off to Cardiff by the sounds of it. It's a shame Coutinho has gone on loan and we didn't manage to dump his contract in the process ?

Someone pointed out today that during the farcical season of 2015-16, the club were rightly criticised for the rebranding exercise when we removed 'Prepared' from the club crest. Whereas ironically that pretty much totally sums up everything that Emery is about ?
1.) 03 Oct 2024 22:00:47
MD, imagine being the guy that got a tattoo with 'Prepared' on it, only for it to be removed from the crest about a year later. ?♂️
2.) 04 Oct 2024 11:51:15
That guy was was me RK ??
3.) 04 Oct 2024 12:33:52
You're not alone Daz, seeing them turn the lion around really took the biscuit for mine. Having a left facing lion in flames with Prepared made me feel a right wally last season ?
4.) 04 Oct 2024 23:48:59
Especially since it’s on your forehead RK ? I had EUROPEANCUPWINNERSAGAINSTBAYERN1982 tattooed down the length of my old boy in massive letters back in the day. Nowadays at my age due to natural shrinkage sadly it just reads ‘UPINASTAR’ ?
29 Sep 2024 18:36:43
Don't over-complicate it. Put simply, neither Konsa nor Carlos could handle Liam Delap and that's where we lost it.
29 Sep 2024 08:45:06
Last time we were top of the league was, I believe, 1998. So if we can just win by 8 clear goals today ? Seriously, I'll take joint top ahead of City all day long ?
21 Sep 2024 19:58:33
So the ideal results tomorrow would probably be a draw in both games. Otherwise a City win and a Brighton/Forest draw would still keep us joint second ?
1.) 22 Sep 2024 16:08:51
One draw down, one to go ?
2.) 22 Sep 2024 19:04:34
And another one ?
3.) 22 Sep 2024 19:16:33
Bang on the money MD, joint second, 1 point off first after 5 games, not bad, all going according to Emery’s master plan.

Positively Ollie's got his shooting boots back on, Duran scores goal of the season and we're third, equal on points with Liverpool. The naysayers will no doubt focus on the fact that we had to go 2-0 down before we mounted a comeback. Over to Scottie ?
1.) 14 Sep 2024 19:46:08
?????
2.) 14 Sep 2024 20:06:03
Ollie was off it in his general play but most of us knew that minutes would prove he is still a top goalscorer.
Duran is an absolute madman but I wouldn't have it any other way. Despite 3 goals from 7 attempts I still don't think he's ready to lead the line and control a game.
The first half just shows why football is what it is. Everton were complete rubbish but you can still nick a goal when most of the opposition are 60 yards up the pitch.
Mcphee earns his pay with a lot of our attacking set pieces but I'd like to see some evidence of him using that nous to prevent chances at the other end.

Daily Mail says we’ve been offered Sterling so it must be true ? Also says Unai is not sure if he’d fit in with his plans, which I think is pretty much what everyone else on here is saying.

28 Jul 2024 01:20:42
Sorry Allstar, I initially mistakenly read in your post that you’d been doing a bit of dogging which, up our way on Cannock Chase, is a particularly popular evening pastime - see Stan Collymore for details ?
17 Jul 2024 19:17:03
Based on Williams’s Euro performances, I’d drive over to Bilbao and fetch him back myself, though Barcelona and Arsenal are also in the picture ?
06 Jul 2024 09:47:06
According to reports on the BBC today, it sounds like we are trying to get the contract terminated as part of the agreement ?

Last night’s team looked like it was picked by some kid just getting started on FIFA. Shoehorning all the ‘big names’ into a team never works. Arguably England’s biggest talent in 1966 (Greaves) wasn’t picked for the final because he didn’t fit the system Ramsey felt had the best chance of beating Germany. Similarly you’d have thought the ‘Lampard or Gerard’ precedent would have rung some bells. Looking at the player position analysis, Trent and Palmer take up identical high positions and so do Foden and Bellingham leaving us exposed at the back. However, if Carsley had benched Foden and Saka there would have been a press riot ?
11 Oct 2024 00:10:01
The idea was to play a different system that didn’t involve an out and out striker but a ‘false 9’ hence no start for Ollie. It failed spectacularly so now let’s just move on. ‘Carsley out’ I hear you say. Who else then?
05 Oct 2024 10:02:01
Sounds like it might be Depeche Mode (Just Can’t Get Enough) or maybe something by Shakira since he’s from Colombia?

I think the answer is that what Unai is aiming for is a Man City type setup where the whole team is about squad rotation and the ability to bring on like-for-like replacements across multiple tournaments. As in City’s case, pretty much no one is guaranteed to start, including Harland and particularly £100m Jack or Foden. So we’re hopefully moving away from the prima-donna system of guaranteed positions to one where we have a wealth of talent willing to rotate. If either Ollie or Jhon think that nowadays, even for a big money move, they can march in to a ‘bigger’ club and demand a start, I think those days are over ?
