According to The Athletic, we've made an approach to sign 19-year-old Spanish winger Jesus Rodriguez from Real Betis. Anyone know anything about him? Given our financial situation, we could probably do with some help from Jesus at the moment ?

So there's an article on the BBC today saying that there have been no negotiations at all over a permanent transfer for Rashford and that he believes United would be prepared to sell him for £40m to anyone this summer, not just Villa. So that says to me that he's hoping someone else will come in for him. It also says he's got no intention of taking a pay cut from his £325, 000-a-week salary (same amount as Vinicius and Bellingham) so essentially he wants someone to pay £40m for him and then a further £17m a year in wages. I suspect, therefore, that we will see him back permanently warming the bench at Old Trafford next season. Thanks for your efforts Marcus, but for that sort of money I suspect we can do better.

Depends on the deal Menace he will still command a fairly sizeable salary and given we are already breaching the salary cap I don’t see how it’s possible to offer Kamara £300k a week something similar for Rashford and £150k for Asensio our income streams won’t sustain that kind of outlay.

We're already wondering how we could possibly afford the full wages of Rashford and Asensio.
KDB is a fair bit older than both of them and spends way more time on the treatment table.
One of the best in the world but we just cannot afford that outlay without massively sacrificing elsewhere.

VJ apparently £300k is what we have offered Kamara to sign a new long term contract as he enters the last 2 years of his deal. That was reported by a number of outlets a week or so ago.

MD, personally I would have kept Malen over Tammy and I think it was definitely a poor decision, he was a good option when Ollie wasn't at the races.

Why would he currently go to a team that are 12 points adrift of us, have no manager and are in turmoil with regard to their ownership/ management relationship? Obviously money is a factor but he strikes me as more intelligent than that. Also, who would you replace him with - and I mean someone of equal or better quality for less money (otherwise there’s no point in selling) who is available and immediately willing to come to VP (i.e.
not on someones fantasy wish-list) . I can’t think of a better midfielder that could replace him frankly.

Yes, but Brest are in the French 2nd tier so why would Bizot be a replacement for Emi? I also suspect that one or two United rejects might be coming our way since apparently, following the Bizot signing, they have formally pitched in for Emi. Perhaps Onana is one of them? Plus they want Ollie so we could end up with Rashford (with his wages cut) and/or Garnacho ?

Well that makes me feel a lot better. If there are 45k on the season ticket waiting list then, at around about the 2000 mark, I’m in the top 5%. At 66 years old, It gives ‘Villa ‘til I die’ a whole new sense of unlikely optimism ? BTW, if I’d gone to every home match last season, it would have cost me around £1500

We’re not building a brand new stadium or increasing the capacity of VP between now and August are we? So it’s not happening for next season. However, Spurs currently have possibly the best and shiniest stadium in the whole country alongside Everton’s brand new ocean-front metropolis, but neither are currently competing with us.
And I’ll leave The Hammers massive stadium and their current league position to your own conclusions.

Loadsamoney Ratcliffe and his team of forelock-tugging amateurs seem to have spent just under 2 years completely missing the point of running a massive football club like Man United since he bought his 27.7% stake and started mismanaging his vanity project in 2024.
It’s not a Swiss-based Chemical company Jim, it’s a football club and the dynamics are diametrically different. He has achieved absolutely nothing apart from leaving the club more dysfunctional now than they were on the day he rode into Trafford on his white horse to rescue them from the Glazers. Laughable.
Having said that Amorim does have by far the worst points per game record of any recent United Manager but you could substantially argue that he has not been allowed to manage. Thank goodness’s we have the ownership that we are blessed with ?
