Kodja on his way out in January?

scotcaffu

1.) 08 Jan 2020 21:57:24
Doubt it mate, unless we sign two first. Just sick hence not in the squad.

2.) 08 Jan 2020 22:00:49
Hope he is Scotty, I have never felt he is a team player, and that he would cut it in the prem.

05 Jan 2020 14:59:20
OMG, reports coming out of Stoke that Hogan is coming back at Villas behest. He can't get in a poor Stoke side, which just about sums up his ability. Oh well if he comes back he could play alongside Kodja, now there's a thought for nightmares.

Sounds like a match made in heaven OK sorry championship.

28 Dec 2019 18:04:44
Eventually today and unfortunately I was able to watch the match on a big screen in full HD, Unlike Deano's feeble excuses I can't recall a wrong decision from either VAR or the officials. There is only one person to blame for today's debacle the same man making all the excuses. Man up you got it wrong and along with your players were the only reasons for a 3-0 defeat against ten men. Keep your respect and dignity and don't blame others, people will think better of you for it.

scotcaffu

1.) 29 Dec 2019 04:04:29
Amen to that.

28 Dec 2019 16:29:58
We can't play against a 10 men Watford side, says it all. Time to go Mr Smith. You had £150 million pounds and you select the team and the style of play and look where we are and look what tripe is being served up.

scotcaffu

1.) 28 Dec 2019 16:51:29
It’s awful get ready for the championship at least can get away tickets.

2.) 28 Dec 2019 16:54:08
Just not good enough. We’re playing championship football. Things are looking bleak. I’m hoping DS can turn this around, more money in January to spend and we’ll be okay (is the ffp a real thing or jealous fans tripe? )
VTID.

3.) 28 Dec 2019 17:37:17
We can just keep buying players the ones we have are crap,
El mohammed is crap
Wes is crap
Jota is crap
Doug luiz crap
E gazi, worse than crap
Target if he’s having a bad game takes a injury
Grelish is good 1 in 5 games
Connor is crap (apart from free kicks)

4.) 29 Dec 2019 08:12:57
Tom, sorry, that's harsh - We have been found out, teams know how we will set up and how to get through us - I can understand your frustration but there is a squad good enough to stay up there! Especially with a few good additions, I think Smith has the Burnley game (which I expect us to lose) .

5.) 31 Dec 2019 21:30:19
Tom,
You’re talking utter tripe.

25 Sep 2019 00:46:30
So at what point do we accept mediocrity as totally acceptable. I hear we haven't been outplayed, fair comment, I hear refereeing decisions have gone against us, again fair comment. I hear too many unforced errors, fair comment, I hear give the manager time, again fair comment, so we keep going until January accepting mediocrity, at which point it's too late, so let's us fans let the owners and management know we are here to support them, however this can't be unconditional and the message has to be, we are Aston Villa and failure is not an option with all of the money that has been invested.

scotcaffu

1.) 25 Sep 2019 13:43:03
As it was their money that was invested, surely it’s there decision what is or isn’t an option?

2.) 25 Sep 2019 14:05:50
These are business men who have built their business on success, I would imagine "it's their view" as well that failure is not an option. Perhaps I'm wrong or stupid, and if things do fail they will keep pumping money in.

3.) 25 Sep 2019 17:23:07
Pointless going on about it scotty, I think you said 5 games.
So let's see how things are after those 5 games.
All of this only breeds discontentment on the terraces, media and the club itself.

4.) 25 Sep 2019 18:05:02
This is getting ridiculous to be honest. We stay up this season and next season the same people will be wondering why we aren't winning the league.
The 'massive' spend averages around 10mill a player, you rarely get world beaters for that sort of money.

5.) 29 Sep 2019 14:06:23
To tell you the truth, lads, I did believe that it would be 2-2 or at least a tie between Aston Villa and Burnley, and I think that it's a fair result. I still think that we will get 6 points in our two next games against Norwich and Brighton. Come on, Villa!

Just listening to Graham Sounds on sky sports super Sunday, he was asked about the relegation fight and who he thinks will survive, he said he thought Watford and Burnley would survive because of their fighting spirit. I hope all of our players were listening and it fires them up to show they can fight like Watford and Burnley. There have been times of late that many of us fans haven't seen the fight that's needed to survive. So Deano and the boys show us the fighting spirit that Souness identifies is a big key to survival.

Pearson has turned Watford around, no doubt.
He has instilled in them a winning attitude and the will to fight for 95 mins.
I had hoped that Terry would do the same for AV but it seems that he is more in the background than in a management role.
when we were looking for a manager, when were we not, Pearsons name was at the forefront but many fans were against him because they saw him as a bully like he was a player.
But if you get this idea into players they feel that they can perform better than the opponents.
This is exactly what he has done at Watford.
Now imagine what he might have achieved with AV?
Nice guy Deano but motivator, I think not.
Without Deano Brentford are still doing the business so there is no evidence that it was he who was the man behind their performances when he came to VP.
WE don't need a nice guy we need a miserable ba-----d to get our super stars playing for their places and one that can bring in players that are performers.
When was the last time we bought a player who was a recognised first team player in the prem?
No, we get players from all over the place, some that we have never heard of and others we wish we had never heard about.
Loan players who cannot get a game anywhere. Part of a successful team in the past who now warm the bench or are not even in the squad.
We could do with a performance related pay structure. £50000 a year plus bonus for winning, league position and the number of goals.
Some of the players must improve instead of leaving it to the icons.
The management must improve.!

Anyone clear up the mystery why Taylor was not even in the named announced squad today yet was warming up when Freddie was injured, did he sneek in unnoticed, very much like his performances.

scotcaffu

1.) 18 Jan 2020 19:01:57
I thought the same not in the squad but warming up right after I made the post about him not been in the squad.

2.) 18 Jan 2020 22:19:02
He was down as one of the subs on Flashscore. com.
They are always up to date about 30 mins before kick off.

3.) 19 Jan 2020 06:50:29
Don't build your hopes up chaps but there's a scary whisper that a real live team who play football for a living may want to take Taylor on loan! I'd be devastated myself obviously!

4.) 19 Jan 2020 14:57:29
How we will get over that I will never know hope he goes and wish him the best.

Is a 6 million player from the average Belgium league really going to make a difference. Without Jack we would already be relegated. First half as poor as it gets second half better. Luiz made a difference, however just taking Drinkwater off was an improvement. Hourihane does nothing other than show his lack of pace. A bit more hope for the Watford game after the second half showing. I thought marvelous did ok, Ming's was excellent, Reina did nothing wrong Jack was his usual class, the rest pretty average. So Tues side Same as the finishing eleven except marvelous for hourihane, Samatta for the kid and as much fight as is humanly possible, Deano dodged a bullet today needs to dodge even more on Tuesday, might just last a bit longer if he gets three points against Watford.
Fans were in fine voice today we deserve better.

scotcaffu

1.) 18 Jan 2020 17:37:40
A 6 million player, That`s just it we don`t know do we, silly statement really Scotty.
Also, you say we would already be relegated without Jack, that may well be, Think about it, Barcelona would not score so many goals if it was not for Messi.
Get my point, its all relative Scotty.
We are where we are, let's all cut the moaning, its bad enough Villa being where they are let alone read all the same crap on here.

2.) 18 Jan 2020 17:38:13
Hopefully Samatta won’t miss as many as El Gazi .

3.) 18 Jan 2020 18:10:17
Dave look what we got for 22 million from Belgium, are you expecting miracles from someone 25% of the cost, I wouldn't hold your breath.

4.) 18 Jan 2020 18:43:32
Spot on Dave.

5.) 18 Jan 2020 22:14:30
Does not work like that does it Scotty, look what we got in McGinn for under 3 million.
End of argument mate.

6.) 19 Jan 2020 09:40:29
Spot on Dave. Benteke was less than £10m, Joelinton £40m.

18 Jan 2020 12:04:51
The way things are going with the Samatta signing and knowing how poor our transfer dealings have been it wouldn't be a surprise if he is not available for Tuesday. He was in Birmingham Friday, why didn't he have his medical then. Media is saying the deal is close, I thought he deal was close on Wednesday yet here we are Saturday pm and still uncertainty. I agree with the comments about our sporting director he really hasn't achieved what we would have hoped and being critical what has he really done. The owners are successful business men and if (big if) we survive I think they will still get rid of both Smith and Suso to save us getting in the same position next year.

scotcaffu

1.) 18 Jan 2020 12:23:24
He can do sod all without a work permit.
Look at Luiz.
Deal was done took nearly a week to get the work permit in place.

15 Jan 2020 13:30:27
I have just for the first time listened to Smith's post match interview on Sunday. Couple of things I would challenge, he said that man city three forwards were worth more than villas entire squad, who is he kidding Aguero on his own is worth more. He needs to wake up to the fact that he had assembled a championship squad whose value he is vastly over valuing.
It's obvious he would be down discussing the total mauling he witnessed however, I would expected more anger than apathy, I just hope he and the team show more fight than we have seen of late. Sunday was at the same level as Watford and Fulham. So 3 if the last five games have been a disaster. Brighton has to be catalyst for the biggest fight many of these players and manager will have ever encountered. If they are not up to it, well, I just don't know where we can go from here.

scotcaffu

1.) 15 Jan 2020 16:34:54
To be fair Scotty I think you will find actually means each of their front three are worth more than our entire team, give him some credit mate.
Also he can`t be seen venting his anger at his players, to the viewing public, its just not done.
Disappointment yes, but anger is a different ball game, and should be kept behind closed doors.

One thing is for sure, usually when kingy speaks believe the opposite, however as Dave comments it could well still happen. However Deano's future won't be in the public domain till it actually happens. I personally believe should we lose to both Brighton and Watford it will probably happen.

We do back our club but without claret and blue blinkers, I don't see a mythical 14th league position, I see a real 18th and we are in trouble. The team and manager need to fight like crazy to get the points to take us to 14th.

Tom with you mate, he shouldn't be anywhere nearthe squad, however like a bad penny unfortunately he keeps turning up. Of course all our failings aren't down to one man, however as Dave says everything breaks down when he has the ball and saps the confidence of those around him.
It's bloody cold at the seaside hope the team warms us fans up.

DJ no point sugar coating it, we are nearer being relegated than a mid table team. We are fighting for our premier survival and are we fighting on the field, not seeing much of that, are we fighting on the transfer front, probably, but without success. We have known for a few weeks we need something upfront, definitely before the Brighton game, still nothing. My big fear is too little too late. We are kidding ourselves if anyone thinks it could be alright. None of us want us to go down however I am seeing absolutely nothing that can put a positive spin on things. I hope Deano has read the riot act after Sunday and let's see how the players react. It still beggars belief that a premier team can go in to successive matches without a recognised striker and expect to get survival points.
