I am in a bar in Tenerife that has had the Villa game and Forrest on two TVs next to each other, one game exciting teams trying to score and one team playing slow deliberate football. Guess which one.
We are such a boring lacklustre watch. We are playing a weak second rate team and nothing is changing slow tempo without a clue how to attack. Glad I have restaurant booked for 9 o'clock.

Have a good holiday, Scotty, don't let Villa ruin it, mate. lol.

Apparently Mings was one of our best players and his aerial height was vital. Obviously injuries aren't helping but our form is not good, both Man U and Chelsea are looking as they will catch us sooner than later. We need to deal with what we have and get on with it.
Wednesday is vital we stop the rot or Europe could become a problem. I see Bailey was woeful and gave the ball away far to often, obviously got to give him time but he was singled out in the press as our worst player, appreciate he came off the bench but hope we didn't get Bailey MK2.

Tomorrow is the time to reverse the disappointing performances of late, Ollie is apparently fit and starts, Onana is reportedly ok as well, so we need to show the teams around us that we are not easy to play against and that's definitely not the case.
I have a ticket for tomorrow's game and off up the A34 in the morning, I'm hoping for something positive and a strong performance, another defeat would show our competing teams that we are not up for the fight.

Good post scotty I have to agree, time to roll up our sleeves. on the plus side Bournemouth at home will come at us so hopefully leave some space to get in behind them

I understand we have a ten million surplus from the Malen/ Tammy deal, taking in to account the younger kid.Wonder if we are lining up a big money signing and every penny counts, we will certainly know pretty soon???
1.) 24 Jan 2026 15:32:56
There's not a 10m surplus at all. 21m euros and Ozcan. Cash wise its about 3m if we're lucky.
2.) 24 Jan 2026 17:06:01
There are some loopholes around signing youth players so it’s possible that although we didn’t make cash profit on him it could contribute more than the 3 million towards psr.
3.) 24 Jan 2026 17:15:04
Dave I think that Sky getting it wrong again, they reported we go something stupid like 30 m Euros for the kid . UTV

Playing devil's advocate, we'll sell Malen, Ollie gets an injury that sidelines him for a prolonged period, where does our striking force come from, Buendia is doing well but isn't a main striker, Guessed is a total misfit and isn't the answer in any position.
Sancho hasn't really put in a decent performance. With the FA cup, premier league and Europa on the horizon it's a real worry if we have an issue with our attacking options.
1.) 14 Jan 2026 05:29:18
That says to me that getting Tammy in for £11M is a no brainer, there’s even talk that Spurs might try to hijack that too lol ?

Let's hope confidence is sky high after tonight's win. Sancho has to start on Sunday. Tammy is not the answer nor is Luiz. We need to up the tempo and stop these slow tactics that are stifling how we play. So Berkley and Ollie, as poor as he has been, should start on Sunday.
Maeetsen and Torres can't defend so get rid, Emery has had enough time with our poor run to sort it out, of course a win is a win but it's only papering over the cracks at the moment with this win, remember the the last ten games.
1.) 20 Mar 2026 07:41:13
So, we lose and Emery and the team are rubbish, win after a rocky period, and we are no good either! It reminds me of the old adage you can't please all of the people all of the time. In your case, Scot, they can't please you any time.
2.)
20 Mar 2026 10:28:00
Whoever plays apparently aren't good enough. What about the 10 games before the last 10 games, Scotty? What were we papering over then? Don't get why all the negativity. Why pay money to watch something you clearly don't like?

That's how most Villa fans feel. It's been like this since xmas.
19 Mar 2026 21:09:59
When will Torres pass to someone in the same coloured shirt? Absolutely clueless.
19 Mar 2026 21:07:39
How exciting was that first half, how Emery can keeping this quality of football up is beyond me.

Sky Sports this evening in the Premier League programme highlighted our current form and the poor stats leading to our current decline. We were the highest lately coinciding with our poor run. We have conceded more goals through defensive mistakes than any other team. Obviously our lack of goals and goal scores was also one of the poorest, Buendia, Rogers and Watkins didn't fare well, in fact they were all poor.
According to the detailed stats, we can't defend and we can't score goals, obviously no surprise. So a simple question: who and how should be in the driving seat to stop the decline continuing. I certainly have seen anything changing in 2026.
1.) 16 Mar 2026 21:18:56
Where were we in the league in January and February then? Where were your posts when we were winning? Now, all of a sudden, you post daily about how bad things are.
We are still in the CL places, we are still in Europe.
What more do you want? I know you want us to fail, to say 'I told you so', like a few on here. Why not back the team and the manager, then perhaps we might just get over the line.
2.) 16 Mar 2026 22:27:39
Its my opinion if u don't like tough i have my own mind and it won't change unai has taken villa as far as he can and we won't win anything with him in charge with his awfull stule of slow boring football i'd rather watch a turd going down the toilet than watch villa play we are rubbish and that run was lucky we scored worldies that we didn't deserve and got out of jail.
3.) 17 Mar 2026 07:35:26
And my guessing is Villa would rather have fans like you not watch them.
4.) 18 Mar 2026 09:12:06
Strange thread. Scot posts, Daz replies, then Jonny retaliates, giving the impression that he wrote the initial Scot comment. Are Scot and Jonny the same person after mistakenly using the wrong account to respond... ???
5.) 18 Mar 2026 10:52:13
No Whack, Im responding to Daz, not having him saying stuff about me, so im gonna respond.
15 Mar 2026 16:24:30
Just read the match report and it says "Emery was apoplectic with rage at Bailey for losing the ball that lead to the goal." Emery deserves everything he gets for picking Bailey and yet he continues to do it. Emery is fast losing respect for his team selections and it is getting worse.
1.) 15 Mar 2026 16:47:08
I'm as frustrated with Bailey (and a few others) as anyone, but who would you have brought on from our bench in an attempt to win the game?
I don't quite understand the point of having Elliot on the bench if we can't/won't use him, but apart from that option, we basically have nothing. Frustrating, but we have to deal with it.
Neville summed it up perfectly - Villa look great in their own third and midfield, but as soon as it goes forward it just fizzles out.
It's not a tactical problem, it's a performance problem, and other than Rogers (less so in recent weeks, but still decent), nobody looks a threat.
Utd away won't define our season, but the next 6 games will.
15 Jan 2026 18:00:34
Dave it won't be the first mistake we have made recently

With your there as well LOTM,
04 Jan 2023 16:08:37
Pity England wasn't a full time gig, Maguire would be in permanently. Man U defence with Maguire at the heart have been poor for a while, why would want a slow centre back.
27 May 2022 11:10:46
Its pretty much ball park what i thought, i think Elghazi will struggle to get anywhere near 10 i also think with ings wages, teams likely to want him will want to pay around 10 so he can maintain his wages.Ings still has time to run on his contract so he may want to sit tight, we would have to drop our valuation to get his wages off the books.
26 May 2022 19:49:24
Whack,Loti we are up to 15,how much do you think this lot would fetch?
19 Mar 2026 22:25:35
Bucky, he was never the answer.
19 Mar 2026 22:24:15
Jonny, unfortunately, Emery doesn't see it.
18 Mar 2026 17:53:17
Our recruitment has been scandalous, VJ and Dan, and to add insult to injury we go back to three who failed: Dougie, Bailey, and Tammy. Add Guessand, Onana, and Malen, all Emery signings. Success is measured in many ways: recruitment, trophies, and league position. Is one of three enough? Obviously not for a few of us.
15 Mar 2026 16:33:34
Dave, we are not strong enough in every department, let alone the 50 50's. I'm getting really fed up with Emery's tactics and team selections. Bailey, Buendia, and Watkins are the worst examples. How long does it have to go on before anything changes? It's been two months of abject failure.
15 Mar 2026 16:15:17
Trinity, take a look at our goal difference. It sums the season up for me, and it was exactly the same compared to all the teams around us last season. What needs to happen, in your opinion, to turn things around? Emery hasn't got a clue.
