Some of you taking the pee owe walkies an apology, strong reliable sources suggest that Konsa was tested positive last week.

1.) 20 Dec 2020 19:03:47
The joke was the “doubt” comment, if he does have C.V. simple thought process from when he last played tells you he isn’t a doubt, he’s out. 😂

Who are these “strong reliable sources”? Why would the club attempt to hide it?

2.) 20 Dec 2020 20:14:25
I would think there would be repercussions if they did try and hide it.

3.) 20 Dec 2020 21:04:47
Definitely Mark!

4.) 20 Dec 2020 21:33:05
He was out simples, never in doubt.

5.) 20 Dec 2020 22:55:18
Its players discretion and if his been training with other players we prob didn't want the game call off because his been around them. House told me himself with his brother so everybody elses view doesn't bother me! So if you have genuine info maybe we shouldn't put it up because u just get called a liar well he didn't play i and hause was right!

6.) 21 Dec 2020 09:31:52
I don’t know if you struggle to read scottcaffu or you missed the post everyone was referring to. Fortunately as much as he tries WTW can’t change what he already posted, so I’ll c&p for you:

“ Konsa wasnt ill he had Cov19 he is a major doubt 4 tomz game because 10 day isolation. ”

Now if I need to break down to you why people would take the pee, I can, but surely you can work out on your own that if Konsa played against Wolves, he must have passed a CV test, if in the mean time he failed one, that would incur a minimum of 10 day isolation period, as the wolves game was less than 10 days ago, he is not a doubt, he is out completely.

So there was no ‘doubt’ in it, it’s a banter site, if someone says something silly people will have some light hearted fun with it. There’s no need to cry.

7.) 21 Dec 2020 17:53:51
No answer yet?

8.) 21 Dec 2020 18:46:47
Nope Daz. Smith said again this morning Ezri is ill but on the mend, and they didn’t want the cold weather last night to slow his recovery.

9.) 21 Dec 2020 20:54:52
I agree i don't mind the banter but I was definitely not lying about him having C.V. luckly 4 us our chip shop is in a rich area and many footy players come in not all Villa. Hutton was in last week as well with his very fit mrs. The info i get is correct.

Maybe doubt is a wrong word i just no he had C.V. hause didn't say when he tested positive just that he did his brother is a very funny chap. 1 thing i will say is the closeness between seems to be very gud the way they all talk about each other.

10.) 21 Dec 2020 23:34:03
Seems a bit odd that the club would be trying to keep something quiet but the players are down in the chippy blabbing about it, for me the believability is zero on that 1 walkies.

11.) 22 Dec 2020 15:52:59
You no nothing.

12.) 22 Dec 2020 18:09:03
*know 😂.

02 Oct 2020 22:09:02
King was absent tonight at the stadium of doom with a migraine, so he is obviously on the move just wonder where he is off to, kingy. WTW any ideas.

1.) 02 Oct 2020 22:21:59
Tottenham were supposedly front runners for King and they’ve just signed striker Carlos Vinicius from Benfica.
Will this clear the path for Villa?

2.) 02 Oct 2020 23:41:35
I think it might well do Mark, its certainly looking likely.

3.) 03 Oct 2020 22:40:29
I think Spurs are favourites. They have a lot less cover in the front 3 and seem to be more desperate to push a deal.
We gave enough interchangeable options and with Smiths preference to get goals from midfield and wide I think he'll be happy keeping Keinan as back up.

4.) 03 Oct 2020 22:44:05
Hadn't seen that they've signed Vinicius. Not convinced King would be looking to play second fiddle for us though.

5.) 05 Oct 2020 20:39:35
Torino’s low bid for King was rebuffed earlier today. However, I think Smith had moved on a while ago from this option. The Barkley deal seems to have shaped the manager’s thinking, particularly with Grealish remaining on the left flank.

13 Sep 2020 17:56:46
Hope I am wrong but my gut feeling is the sale of Jack is financing the latest three reported signings from Arsenal, Leon, Weder bremen, I think the friendly against man u yesterday was part of any deal, again hope I am a million miles off the mark, but the money has to come from somewhere, just ask the eds.

{Ed002's Note - The money can potentially come from selling him at the end of the season - but it does have to come from somewhere.}

1.) 13 Sep 2020 20:40:39
Last year it was tv money according to pursey purslow. whos to say we aren’t dipping into to that again the owners seem to be prepared to spend to get somewhere and make profit later when were in the champions league every year 😂 jacky isn't going anywhere soon 👊🏻.

2.) 13 Sep 2020 20:45:56
Utd won’t stump up the cash for jack, after buying donny, they have pogba Bruno and greenwood, jack not stupid he won’t go somewhere to warm the bench he can’t get picked ahead of greenwood for England, if he moves I don’t think it will b to United.

3.) 14 Sep 2020 00:34:06
Crossed my mind, scotcaffu.

The only thing making me feel otherwise is no midfield signings (so far) by Villa.

United seem worried. Raised expectations with the Sancho saga and need to save face. Mind you, £80M in the current climate is a lot to stump up for a single player.

I am surprised we have potentially spent what we have, but assume it is due to the easing off on FFP rules with the two year assessment that has led to us being so heavily active.

If I was being devil’s advocate, I suppose United could be offering a midfielder plus cash for Jackie boy. Would be very upset if the clown boy, Lingard, was part of any deal.

4.) 14 Sep 2020 10:35:28
Jacks gona sign a new deal jacks dad said last night.

5.) 14 Sep 2020 10:51:32
AJ I think Utd might go for Jack if the Sancho deal falls through. If that does happen then as I have said previously we need to take a leaf out of the Brentford book and play hard ball over the fee, so for me the only Utd player that I would accept, guy y and they are likely to release is Tuanzebe I would then try to secure someone like Barkley, Loftus Cheek, or Sigurdsson as a replacement or maybe even two of the above. The other thing is if we get to the last week of the window and nothing has happened then whether Utd offer us what we want they need to be told to bugger off because it won’t give us enough time to sort out replacements and integrate them into the first team squad. Interesting times!

06 Aug 2020 17:16:20
Just read 002 is a lady.

Does her obsession with FFP and slapping us boys down at every opportunity mean she is a Femme Fatale Poster.

{Ed002's Note - It is hardly an obsession with FFP, it is a simple statement of fact that AV have the opportunity to resolve their issue whilst many of the supporters are of the opinion that they can ignore FFP and that the owners will spend as much as they want.}

1.) 06 Aug 2020 18:34:25
Come on Ed, break down this wall with us, it feels like you are a bit harsh on us at times.
You have to admit mate, your strict approach to us over FFP needs a bit of humour at times, and I reckon you have a crafty smile to yourself over it, am I right 😁.

{Ed002's Note - I do have a smile Dave - but I think it may just be wind.}

2.) 06 Aug 2020 19:27:46
That`s better Ed, have some gripe water mate, with gin works wonders.

3.) 06 Aug 2020 19:57:46
Ed we are Aston Villa, "we spend what we want"

4.) 06 Aug 2020 20:25:59
Hahaha, love it scottie,

5.) 06 Aug 2020 23:06:24
Dave I'm on a mission to win Ed 002 round, I will try humour, science my financial incompetence and get to the point that ffp will never be mentioned on here ever again. You do the charm offensive and I'll do the wind up.

6.) 07 Aug 2020 11:34:29
Ok Scotty, I feel the deed is done mate, what about you.
I bet he is smiling as he is posting this. 😁.

{Ed002's Note - Much will depend on departures but a CB, an CM/AM/LW (if Grealish were to depart), and a S are key. A versatile DM/CM will also be required if Douglas Luiz leaves.
Possible notable departures:
Jack Grealish (CM/AM) right now the club are for now pricing him out of a move and the interest of Manchester United is drifting away.
Douglas Luiz (DM/CM) but Manchester City have the option to buy him back if Aston Villa put him up for sale - which I doubt they would
Carney Chukwuemeka (CM/AM) only a kiddie but another who might make an early breakthrough like Jude Bellingham has done at Birmingham. Aston Villa will do all they can to keep him and know that he has been watched in Under 18 games by scouts representing many Premier League teams and at least one German side. Aston Villa can expect an approach from both Manchester clubs, Leicester and Liverpool before long.
Wesley (S) will leave if an opportunity arises.
Scott Hogan (S) an upgrade is needed.

In terms of what the club has been looking at:
(CB) I am not aware of any targets and if Kortney Hause is available the issue could go away.
Baptiste Santamaria (DM) Angers will not look to let him leave on the cheap having rejected offers from Aston Villa and Bordeaux last summer so they have a price at around €20M - but critically they want a cash, or near all cash sale. Angers have shared Leicester, Aston Villa, Napoli, Atalanta, Villareal, Spurs, Fiorentina, Sevilla, Everton and West Ham have all sent scouts to watch him this season. Additionally, the interest of Lille and Lyon is well understood. He will certainly be sold this coming summer but there is a side issue that might make a move to England a little difficult – but I expect Spurs to push.
Christian Luyindama (DM/CB) Aston Villa could be priced out of the market for him. Wolves are keen and Galatasaray don't want to sell. Has just recovered from serious knee injury but it has not stopped interest of Everton.
John Swift (CM) Reading's CM player has been recommended to AV.
Morgan Sanson (CM) beyond very unlikely but an enquiry made by Aston Villa.
Ben Chrisene (CM) this should go ahead – a kiddie but a great deal is expected of him.
Ollie Watkins (S) Leeds and Aston Villa have declared and interest with Brentford – who may look to an auction if more interest arises – and it might with Crystal Palace.
Michy Batshuayi (S) AV asked about a loan but Chelsea want to sell - very unlikely.
Kelechi Iheanacho (S) Perhaps a wildcard option.
Alfredo Morelos (S) Although Rangers don't want to sell, there have been enquiries for Morelos from Aston Villa and Crystal Palace (way down their list). Very unlikely and I suspect heading to Lille.
Said Benrahma (LW/S/F) Brentford are looking for £25M with Palace, Spurs, Leicester, Aston Villa, Newcastle and West Ham showing an interest - the question will remain can he step up.
Serhou Guirassy (S) makes little sense but Aston Villa has taken a look as have West Ham, Brighton, Bournemouth, Rennes, Arsenal and Spurs who have had the player offered to them. Amiens want some of those nice English pounds and no English clubs will pay over the odds.
Vedat Muriqi (S) heading elsewhere, but looked at by AV.

7.) 07 Aug 2020 15:44:36
Thank you for that Ed, very comprehensive mate, and a lot to digest.
As being reported at the moment, it appears Wesley is drawing some interest at 13m, is there any substance to this Ed.
It seems a bit strange as he has not kicked a ball in anger since his knee injury.

{Ed002's Note - I suspect there is - there are a couple of sides (Lazio and Hertha Berlin) who think they can get more out of him.}

8.) 07 Aug 2020 16:14:44
Well maybe a couple more million and we should let him go.

22 Jun 2020 13:03:48
Slept on my frustration and this morning I still feel as disappointed and frustrated. I accept this is pretty typical now and we are going down with a whimper. I would imagine we will cash in on Jack mcginn and Heaton, who are the only three that will get in a premier league side. The rest are ready for the struggle at the top of the championship. The owners backed Smith and it didn't work out. There have been far more successful managers who have been sacked so I struggle to see how people are still backing him. The last two games have shown how predictable we are and I can't see anything changing. So we will be back where we deserve to be along with Norwich and Bournemouth. The only difference we have spent a fortune and got no return on the investment this equates to failure in any walk of life. I will renew my season ticket because Villa are in my blood, I just wish some of the over paid overrated bunch of players cared as much.

1.) 22 Jun 2020 16:49:25
And me Scotty, woke up with a bloody headache, the sky was full of rain, and the wife wanted me to clean the windows, inside of course.
That`s what being a Villa fan is mate.

As anyone got an update on Heatons move to Man U, feel really sorry for him, injuries are brutal at time and have many consequences, mental health must be affected.

1.) 14 May 2021 19:45:29
According to Football Insider he has rejected our offer of a new contract and is in talks with Utd for a player coach role but only as third choice keeper, I could understand if he was leaving to be a number one or to get more game time but third choice? Bizarre if you ask me.

2.) 14 May 2021 20:15:00
Cheers John.

3.) 14 May 2021 20:17:20
Longer deal, better financial security, longer job prospects, not bizarre at all imo, good luck to him👍.

4.) 14 May 2021 23:51:00
I think United want rid of De Gea this summer if they can shift him, Heaton may well be number 2 to Henderson. And as a back up there he’ll get likely more football with their European commitments. His injury was hugely unfortunate, as he’d shown himself to be a great player around the team, and his experience and leadership was invaluable. I can understand him going back to the club where he started. but wonder whether we’ll replace him or trust Steer as back up + the returning Sinisalo who is highly rated?

13 May 2021 20:09:35
We all know that was poor, but the season is almost over so we get ready for next year. On a lighter note, i watched the game with my grandsons, the eldest (11) asked me to call him tomorrow if we are successful in the ticket ballot, the youngest said he is phoning childline if we drag him down there, in his words to "watch that rubbish", I wonder where he gets it from 🤔.

1.) 13 May 2021 20:43:36
I wonder where he does Scott😄😄 Hope you are lucky enough to to see a game and if you are enjoy it and embrace it with your grandkids.

2.) 13 May 2021 21:27:05
Daz just to get back to some sort of normality will give us all a big lift, I do hope we are successful, the last time me and the boys saw the villa was last March at Wembley.

09 May 2021 20:07:49
Reading all of the posts on today's performance, there is a lot of frustration out there and rightfully so. Most, if not all of our current demise, is a mixture of self inflicted lack of quality and poor decision making by coaches and players alike. Many on here don't like what i say and I accept that, however I have been consistent for some time now about the total lack of quality of most of our current squad. Barkley, Luiz, Elghazi, Traore, Mcginn were all very average at best today and that has been the case for a long time. let's hope we start afresh next season with at least six quality signings. If the ref had been recruited from the holte end the result would have been exactly the same. So forget the excuses, we have to do far far better next season, with a fresh coaching approach and hopefully a significant increase in quality players otherwise we will be in an extremely uncomfortable position and pressure will be on the owners to act swiftly. Not doom and gloom but a genuine view of a loyal fan who wants the best for his club.

1.) 09 May 2021 21:39:47
Luiz is a tricky one for me, he's not a defensive midfielder but is being asked to play as such. I honestly believe if we signed an out and out HMF in the summer and removed that from his job spec we would have a phenomenal player on our hands - He is young, and yes he has the occasional brain fart like today but I've seen enough to know there is a real talent there, albeit not at HMF. Also, a HMF would free McGinn up to play further forward where he is much better.

Going to be an interesting summer - Agree we need 6 quality signings to really push on!

2.) 09 May 2021 23:38:15
BK, why is he being asked to play in that position then.
If the Manager knows what he is doing, like so many are saying, he is in the right position.
Transfer market has him listed as a Defensive Mid, the real truth of the mater is that he is not great at his job.
Never rated him, sorry mate.

3.) 10 May 2021 09:21:56
To be fair to him now the most has settled, he was our best player following the mid season break last year, playing as a defensive midfielder. That then flowed into this season where we had our best first quarter of a season in decades with some of the best performances in a similar time frame, with him as a defensive midfielder. So he’s proved him can do it, not just on the odd occasion but for a stretch of 20+ games. In the first half yesterday he was brilliant, one two touch, demanding the ball off the centre backs so they didn’t just lump it, quick triangles to play through Uniteds press.

For me, it’s not his ability, it’s his brain, jumps all over people when they are countering, fair enough, we haven’t had someone who will make the cynical fouls when needed and we are out numbered. But now he does it when players are running away from our goal, when they are running straight into two or three players, his sending off against wolves earlier in the season was another complete brain fart.

In ability he’s one of our best players, and we aren’t at the point where we turn our nose up at full Brazilian internationals, not by a long stretch😂. In my view he needs time and competition, everyone can name players who were ok in their early twenty’s and went on to be brilliant players (De Bruyne) . So definitely sign a new defensive mid in the summer, but shouldn’t be selling Dougie in a month of Sunday’s.

4.) 10 May 2021 10:57:56
Dave I think that's two separate conversations :-) I agree with you, some of Smith's team selections and game management leaves a lot to be desired but for me he deserves to be in charge next season - Now why does he play Luiz as a HMF, for me we look a lot better in possession when Luiz plays instead of Nakamba. Marvelous is better defensively but offers zero going forward, and (for me) the majority of our best performances this season have come with Luiz on the pitch. I'm convinced there is am extremely good player in there, as Chris says we aren't in a position to turn our noses up to a player who makes Brazils 11 - He only just turned 23, we are crying out for our youth to be given a chance but Luiz isn't dramatically older and will 100% get better with time and, most importantly, better players around him.

05 May 2021 13:33:28
Entered the ballot for the Chelsea game, looks like about a 1 in 3 chance so fingers crossed. Rules are pretty strict and no cheeky pint inside, however would love to be successful for my two grandsons 🤞.

1.) 05 May 2021 17:31:04
Iv entered as well, with my Two sons . My youngest lad was there last Saturday, to get his first jab .
As you say Dave, it’s a lottery, but would be great, to cheer them on again .

01 May 2021 21:57:45
Where on earth has that been for the last two months, well done, players that can pass to claret and blue shirts, so that's the level we can achieve, so Deano has obviously worked on it, really promising performance, well done.

1.) 02 May 2021 08:21:16

TOV, i know you are old school, but with wise words that apply to the modern game. I am fed up of watching our midfield capitulate game after game, putting our defence under pressure. My gripe is that Smith and his coaching team have no idea how to address this issue which does not bode well for the future under his leadership.

Many on here don't like what i say, however whack, John and BK have said what me and others have been saying for months. I will reiterate, tactically we are poor, we have no one in midfield that can do a job and it is both worrying and frustrating that there is absolutely no evidence that our coaches have a clue. So two games to go and we will almost certainly not get anything from them and the season will end like a damp squib. Its a shame but let's be honest, we have problems with lack of quality in terms if players and coaching methods alike.

Dave, unfortunately not heard, grandsons are ok with it, we are going to have a family barbecue and watch the match in the garden (English weather permitting), hope you enjoy, you need to shout for all of us, slight consolation we can at least have a beer while watching, probably need it.
