It's already started, already one of the most sought after players, yes lots of it is click bait, however let the kid play football, unfortunately the noise will not ease off and let's hope he hasn't got some silly buyout clause.
Read today from multiple sources Liverpool are interested for next season. Hope he continues as he is and enjoys his time under Emery and Aston Villa.

Just watched a video blog on YouTube of Saturday's game,we gave away 17 passes in our own half to Brentford, nearly all were our defensive players. How on earth can we expect to stop the opposition scoring when we can't keep the ball in our own half. We have the worst record out of the top eight teams last season,we scored the fewest goals and conceded the most, the way we are being set up and the way we are playing it's going to continue.
Facts don't lie and show why many fans are concerned about our current style and set up, we need a quality central defender with pace asap.

I said from start of season we would do nothing we havent replaced the players that were sold,unai to stubborn wont play belis in starting 11 or mbaye,and put sjm in midfield so we dont get over run let bouba mop up like he been doing in past seasons, also id like to see jckson,madjo,mbaye uptop will unai play ithat front 3 in a 433 formation no if we dont start picking up points soon its gonna be a shocking season,unai has to sort this this out.
The villa fans i know rnt happy and have already given up on the season after all the players we sold i still think we will finish 8th to 10 at best which is shocking,yes we needed a rebuild but it should of been done slowly by getting of a couple in summer window then in winter and nxt at end of season,we have ripped the heart and soul out the team and we cant get that bck gone from a top5 squad to a top 10 squad at best the whole team looks clueless in my opinion and we cant keep on blaming psr /ffp unai transfers rnt the best aswell how many have been good aswell suzuki and manzambi do look quite good and ruggeri the rest have question marks against them.

We can focus on the world as we'd like it to be or the world as it is. Yes, in an ideal world we'd have evolved the squad slowly over time with more incremental change, but circumstances didn't allow for that. Some signings will hit the ground running, some will take time and some might not work. With the level of changes to the squad, this season was always going to be a bit rocky. Expecting anything else would be naive, but setting up for long term success without being able to throw money at a problem takes time. The sooner people just accept that and get on with supporting the team the better. Coupled with an entire stand missing, finishing in the top 6 would be a miracle.if you expect anything different, I suggest revising your expectations.
Hoping for something isn't the same as being justified in expecting it.
How many times do we have to go through this short term panic vs long term strategy debate?
Emery will evaluate new signings and integrate them properly to give them the best chance to succeed. It has absolutely nothing to do with being too stubborn to just throw them in. He's an elite manager, not a fan or fantasy football manager.
On a more positive note, it's feeling like this will be one of those seasons where everyone is beating everyone, so who knows, we could just as easily finish 4th as we could 12th.not counting Man City. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

DBS Irrespective of the circumstances of losing players, integrating new signings, all of this will obviously hamper progress. However If players old and new aren't capable of basic defending,passing the ball to someone in the same coloured shirt and a midfield that looks fractured and clueless,results and performances will continue as they are are no matter what the mitigation is.

The point I'm trying to make is that judging football over a short time scale, more often than not, is useless.
We literally had many of the same conversations and points people are making now, this time last year and a lot of people on here ended up having to admit they'd been short sighted at the end of last season. Rome wasn't built in a day.we literally haven't had chance to field what will likely be our first choice eleven yet due to having to integrate new players signed later than we'd have liked, injuries and all this after a major overhaul and an empty stand.
All of us would like for us to have a fully bedded-in squad of top performers and new signings hit the ground on day one, but real life doesn't work like that.
Context matters, it's real, and I'd have hoped by now it might have added a little perspective to the conversation. But people have their own way of analysing things I guess, so each to their own.
For what it's worth, I think this season was always going to be tough given the above, but in a season where lots of teams are inconsistent, if we all stick together we could end up with a decent finish.but if we don't, it's not a reason to throw our toys out of the pram and demand heads roll. Next season we could reap the rewards of a solid foundation and investing in young talent. Full new stand, integrated squad and a year of team building. That's how i'll judge this new squad, not after 10 games.

No1 is saying 10 games dbs just we wanna see something to be hopefull for and at the moment theres nothing defence is shocking,midfield clueless,attack ok and our gk is the only bright spark our style of play is shocking we lack pace we dont press agressive or play good attacking football and we are near the bottom of the league aswell.
In my opinion i think this will be unai last season he will go to bigger club thay allows him to spend money and not constantly sell ur best players sadly for villa we cant go any further we have reached our limit,other teams will be in same postion as villa n ncastle,the likes of brighton,brentford or everton will have there players picked off in a second,rules are only gonna get stricter now aswell thanks to city cheating will we get top4/5 again highly unlikely cant see it and in a few years aswell.
You dont rip up a top4/5 squad in 1 season and thats ruined us we have gone bckwards. iknow we needed younger players but we still could of added them to the group we had and just sell a couple of players in 1 window.

Sorry Jonny but Unai got a top 4 squad in less than 12 months and that was using same players that were failing under Gerrard. Squad needed an overhaul and most departures were unavoidable so this situation was forced on us. If you think we're are in a bad way then thank your lucky stars you don't support Man U.

SV. Looks like he has gone after all. He will be remembered by many of us for that season when he was brilliant. I will also never forget how really poor he could be at times. That said, I genuinely wish him and his family well for the next chapter in his career.

Cash is usually the first one to get a yellow card totting up suspension, yes he gives everything unfortunately he is far too reckless for his own good at times. We are obviously struggling for full backs, so it will make the Man U game more challenging than it should be and they may well have a new manager for Sunday's game.
Hope the Man City villa turn up,not the usual Man U villa and we roll our sleeves up and do what everyone else has been doing to them at home, if we don't it will be big news.

My next door neighbour had his annual Halloween party tonight which me and my family always attend, he puts on a good spooky horror show, my family all went except me and my two grandsons, us three went to our own second half horror show. Wish I'd stayed at home. Two Saturdays, chalk and cheese, we can't have it all are own way.
Tactics created that poor showing, we didn't, and not for the first time have a credible midfield. Kamara was again missing in action,Mcginn and (nothing to do with his penalty) was a passenger. Perhaps everyone had an eye on Tuesday, but tonight was as poor as it's gets especially the second half. We should have lost the chances Fulham had. I can't remember a shot on Target the second half.
Villa park used to be a fortress and yet we have had only one win and one decent performance. If this continues we can forget competing for European football next season. We have made expensive signings that are doing ok, ok is not enough to get to the level of last season. Tuesday is a free hit, let's hope we are not embarrassed.
Who are the most troubled side in the Premier League at the moment and who do we have a poor record against on their ground and who do we play in our next league game. Let's hope we can regroup for next Sunday or there will be some harsh words especially if Barcelona do to us what Bournemouth did in the week and Fulham second half.

I think we have to accept that this season we are likely to be inconsistent whilst Emery makes sure the entire squad are imbued with how Emery wants them to play so I'm not unduly surprised at the Fulham result. Having said that I must admit I was surprised by the performances of certain players. If Alysson doesn't track back to support his full back then he won't stay in the first XI too long. I don't know if Emery instructed him to stay further up the pitch because his performance was very different to that against Man City.
The other player who disappointed me was Goretzka when we needed some control in the middle of the park in the second half he wasn't there, given his experience I thought that was poor. Looking forward to Tuesday against Barcelona, we normally pull out our better performances against good sides.

I mentioned the other day after Bournemouth that I was disappointed with Goretzka, watching him in the first half I thought ok maybe I was harsh as he was very decent but second half he was non existent, fitness is his issue I think, for me last night was as much Emerys fault as any player, he had ample time to make changes, we were under constant pressure for 15 or 20 mins before they scored, same in the cup he waited till the scored the second one when he should of changed at half time.
stubbornness is his biggest negative point as a manager. I'll be happy with any European spot for next year, if it's Europa or conference we should be winning it. Brighton look like they will take our spot in the top 5, a lot will depend on how quick we can get the consistency in our play.

Based on today's games the league table is changing by the minute, we need to continue our run to keep in touch with the likes of Newcastle, Brentford, there are a few others like Leeds and a few more that will probably fall by the wayside.
I missed the kick off because of traffic yesterday and heard boos as I got in to the ground,I thought it was because we had been turned around by city kicking towards the Holte first half, just read from a journalists article that it was Emery's decision to kick this way to pressure City early on and did it work, Emery master class all round.

Another Emery Masterclass and not for the first team beating Man City. I agree Cash was outstanding, all of the team did exactly what they were supposed to do. I overheard a young lad sat next to me asking his dad if he could, how many of the five who left would he want back, none was the answer.
The upgrade on Martinez, Watkins is amazing, The replacements for the others are more than capable. Gives a real buzz to the weekend when Emery can work his magic. Can't see many of the starters today playing against Bournemouth in the cup be an interesting line up.

59, Travelling fans should get their money back if there was any fairness after that woeful showing. I'm glad I chose not to go in the end, suspected this would happen,gave my ticket to my brother, probably won't speak to me for a while.
We obviously need defenders asap especially as the games come up quickly, injuries will cripple us if we don't get some decent recruits in as backups. Tonight proved that non of the defenders who started are good enough as cover let alone starters.

SV, I'm glad you agree and we are not on our own. My son in law lives in Luton and is a season ticket holder and I watched them a number of times In the 23/24 premier league season including our game in March when we won 3-2 with late minute goal from Luca Digne. On all occasions Barkley was their best player and his stats for the season were up with the best. Yes it was a while ago however I'm still seeing the same player I did in 2024 and so did Emery that's why he bought him.
We all have players we don't fancy and Whack is entitled to his view, I just happen to thing he is both wrong and unfair. He is however absolutely bang on with tap in Tammy, just a pity would couldn't get him off the wage bill, it appears nobody wanted him even at a knock down price.

My point is that if a player is in the limelight if the price is right they move on, loyalty doesn't usually get in the equation. It's great that Jackson is doing well and playing for the right manager, that was my comparison with Rogers.

IV, the sad part of football,or the inevitable,a player who has ability and hasn't always showed it, plays for a manager who gets the best out of them. The player shows his true class and ability and what happens,the press wax lyrical (like they did today) and the vultures come circling and his value goes through the roof and his agent gets him the deal of his life, I know that's football,look at Rogers.
