Hi
I have been a Villa supporter for 63 years and I have finally become totally disillusioned by the way football is run.
I noticed that after Pep moaned about Marc Guhei being cup tied the rules were changed. It seems the authorities will do anything to maintain the top six, can’t have upstarts like Palace winning again.
This is of course the tip of the Iceberg, 3 years waiting for the Man City report, yet those top teams, Everton, Forest and Leicester are docked points immediately.

The transfer market is practically a no go for teams like Villa and Newcastle who are debt free. Look at Spurs though, just shy of a billion in debt but still paying out top dollar for players even though Spurs can no longer be classed as top six, or is this the amount of managers they have had this season? Spurs debt repayments each year are £38.7 million, the Villa player spend over 3 years £40 million approx, how can this be fair?
Isn’t it about time that the slate is wiped clean, if your owners want to spend, let them.

Football is a business after all but it should be a fair business where if you have the money you can spend it.
When the City report comes out what is the odds that they won’t be able to buy players for 2 years but will come into effect a week after the end of the Summer transfers?
At the moment it appears a corrupt affair. I am just waiting for the last game of the season if Spurs need 3 points to stay up, who would vote against them getting the win by any means possible.

I have to hold my hands up and say when I heard we had signed Victor Lindelof I was seriously underwhelmed I thought he was slow had the turning circle of the Titanic and I couldn't see how he would fit into an Emery side. How wrong was I! Whilst he isn't the quickest he certainly isn't slow he reads the game well is good in the air and probably what I like the most is he doesn't try to do things he knows he can't so we don't have him trying to do Cryuff turns or playing 60 yard cross field passes he just keeps it simple and what he is good at.

In many ways you could argue he's been our most effective centre back.

This season I thought victor and Ezri were our best paring, I know we lost the 3 guys in midfield but he lost his place around the same time and results have slipped. obviously not all because of him but I do believe it had some impact

This is probably a daft question so bear with me. So we remain in financial difficulties and last year we managed to dodge a bullet by the club effectively selling the women's team to themselves.

My question is with the shirt sponsorship deal coming up for negotiation could the club not effectively do something similar this year by effectively sponsoring
itself?

Basically sell the rights for an over inflated price to one of your subsidiaries and make some of our financial worries disappear? You probably can't do this and even if you can it's at best practice but we need to find ways to remove the financial straight jacket that's being applied to clubs other than the big six?

This would be great if we could wrangle it, I do think there are some restrictions though, I’d imagine it’s a bit like selling the stadium and the women’s team where we had to stick to market value. I do think we will have a juicy sponsorship deal if we can get top 5

Like Whack said, any deal with related parties is subject to independent review. Man City failed with their bid to scrap that rule and I agree with the decision.

Going back to the Morgan Rogers position if you look at players we are being linked with a large number the likes of Julian Brandt, Thiago Almada, and now MGW all are attacking midfielders, we currently have Buendia and Rogers occupying those positions so why would you need to sign another of this type of player? Makes no sense to me.

I think all the links would seem to suggest one of the attacking midfielders are on the move.

Yep because Emery rang around all the news outlets and informed them what he’s planning to do in the summer. or maybe it’s just made up rubbish. every tabloid going will try sell Roger’s in every window, yet not one bid we have received for him

Apparently Mings was one of our best players and his aerial height was vital. Obviously injuries aren't helping but our form is not good, both Man U and Chelsea are looking as they will catch us sooner than later. We need to deal with what we have and get on with it.

Wednesday is vital we stop the rot or Europe could become a problem. I see Bailey was woeful and gave the ball away far to often, obviously got to give him time but he was singled out in the press as our worst player, appreciate he came off the bench but hope we didn't get Bailey MK2.

It's amazing how quickly things change. A month ago we were 9-10 points clear now after 1 point from 9 the lead has pretty much gone and we still have the likes of City, Liverpool, Utd and Chelsea to play and Utd and Chelsea are putting a run together.

Whereas before I thought we might have qualified for CL with games to spare now I think it's going to go down to the wire. Wrong time to have a wobble.

There are 13 games left, Liverpool need to win 3 more games than us in that period - 7 wins will get us to 68 points, that will undoubtedly be enough to secure 5th (or above) and we play Brighton, Leeds, Wolves, Forest, West Ham, Fulham, Sunderland, Spurs and Burnley and we also play Chelsea and Liverpool at home in 2 huge 6 pointers.

Agree our form has dipped but I think Emery and this team have enough to secure 7 more wins from those fixtures between now and the end of the season.Brighton is absolutely massive IMO, a win during the week and I can see us going on a run of results (it's what this team has done for 3 years now), we just need to keep a gap to 6th until Tielemans and McGinn return and then we'll be fine!

Got the draw, beautiful goal by Rogers . The Brazilian kid of theirs, took his goal well, but aided and abetted by Digna playing statues . Onana was brilliant, lost count of the headers he won, amazed he got the 90 mins . Sancho played some nice stuff first half, but second half we had a lot of players looking very leggy . You may as well of played my Mrs, for Bailey, every 50-50 he lost, just no commitment.

Ollie time and again, just doesn't attack any balls put across the box, surprised that Tammy didn't get on earlier. Got to give it them, the amount of pressure they put on us . But in saying that, we helped second half, by not putting two passes together .
At least we never lost, back on track for a top four . UTV

I think Mings has to take some responsibility for it aswel he gave him 2 much space to shoot, he does give better support to Martinez for corners and set piece into the box but defending in open play he’s not good enough for the PL.

feel sorry for Lindelof he was playing better than both Mings and Torres when he lost his place. it’s going to be a long few weeks waiting for tielemans to come back. missed maginn tenacity big time aswel

Tomorrow is the time to reverse the disappointing performances of late, Ollie is apparently fit and starts, Onana is reportedly ok as well, so we need to show the teams around us that we are not easy to play against and that's definitely not the case.

I have a ticket for tomorrow's game and off up the A34 in the morning, I'm hoping for something positive and a strong performance, another defeat would show our competing teams that we are not up for the fight.

Champions league is still very much in our own hands. 2 disappointing home results should not take away from where we are at the moment, realistically 7 wins from 14 games with a couple of draws should be enough. We are getting one or 2 injured players back now with others in a few more weeks.

Still fighting on 3 fronts so plenty to be excited about and a win Saturday puts us firmly in control over Liverpool who Have a tricky game against city and could find themselves 10 points behind at ko.

I'm still not convinced Chelsea will overtake us and I'm expecting them to start dropping points again after the new manager bounce
Let's take some positivity into the tail end of the season as still plenty to play for . UTV

We need to move from Sunday's result and realise we aren't going to beat every team on the league week in week out, over the full 90 plus minutes it was forward against defence I know we had a man advantage,
Tammy, Dougie, Bailey are only getting up to speed just in the door a week 3 games in a week didn't help either.

When we get everybody fit this now is a serious squad, if that lads can hold in there for the next week's and when McGinn, Kamara Youri Watkins are back we will get champions league at ease we just to keep the gap from untied, Liverpool,
Imagine been able to hold on to this squad for next season, we nearly have two good players for every position.

Keep the heads up keep singing and cheering the lads on keep the faith and keep dreaming because this season will be something to remember.
