Adeyemi of Dortmund being mentioned, I don't watch German league but good player from what little I have seen of himj

Moussa Diaby has just signed five year deal as new a Al Ittihad player and it looks like Duran won't be far behind in leaving after telling Villa that he wants to join West Ham.

Haven’t seen Disby confirmed anywhere yet? Duran looks desperate to leave

It's confirmed now.👍

Duran will be gone soon too, he appears to have burnt his bridges with Villa and many of our fans, a good player with potential but a bad fit at Villa, I think his days are almost certainly numbered.

According to The Sun (always reliable?) we are looking to replace Diaby with Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix. At least there's plenty of other Portuguese he can hang around with in the Midlands🤔

Amadou Onana medical completed so expect an official announcement later today, a fantastic signing in my opinion who offers something we have lacked.
Tuesday is the long awaited new kit reveal, so I'm looking forward to this but I know all that quality Adidas gear is going to empty my wallet.
Hopefully by Wednesday there is some concrete news of a replacement for Diaby 😉

I’m still not really sure why we are doing this for like €5m profit. we were already light up front as it was… but in Emery and co I trust

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2024 03:40:58
When the player is happy enough to move on after just one season then maybe there were other issues, I'm pretty sure he wasn't forced out of the door, so maybe he or his family didn't like living in the UK, or maybe he couldn't cope with the premier league, or maybe he just wants the huge money he will make, whatever the reason he has gone now so we all move on, my guess is that there is a very exciting signing coming our way in the not too distant away. 😉

I think an alleged salary of circa £20 million a year might have had something to do with it.🤔

22 Jul 2024 15:40:30
We've lost Diaby and Luiz who between them scored 15 goals and 13 assists and replaced them with Onana and Barkley with 7 goals and 6 assists.

Hopefully playing with better players will improve their stats.

Diaby will be replaced

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2024 19:19:34
Diaby isn’t sold yet let alone replaced, I expect a big name to come in and replace Diaby when he leaves, Barkley will get more goals with us than he did at Luton for sure, I don’t think Onana has being bought to score goals primarily

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jul 2024 05:35:27
I think Rogers will bag plenty this season and we also have JJ on the verge of a return, Ollie will score a hat full as usual and Bailey too will pop in a few, with the likes of McGinn and Barkley also likely to add goals we should have quite a lot of fire power, I also think a big signing is on the horizon and that will be a player who will also be expected add goals so we should be in good shape. Not sure how far Beundia is from fitness but he too has goals in him.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jul 2024 03:16:53
Let’s be honest Diaby was poor last season, throw the stats at me all you want but I watch football with my eyes and he looked lost most of the time.
I’d say Emery and co have seen we can make a profit and took it and ran. Diabys stats suggest he was a top performer last season and there would be plenty more sniffing round him if that was the case.

Great but of business for me

According to very reliable sources Diaby is now a done deal €60 million Euro, Monchi in my opinion would have already been working on bringing in a big signing to replace him, he may already have close to the line, who that may be is a guessing game, I know who I would like to see arrive but we will have to wait and see but I don't think we will have to wait long to find out. 🤔😉

Reported villa interest in Todibo of nice, any thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Jul 2024 20:45:41
Could we afford him. I thought we were in danger of falling foul of PSR rules. We have spent €117m and brought in €67m. If we were close before, surely being another €50m in debt won't help. Might be some truth in the Watkins and Konsa leaving rumours.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2024 22:37:21
We cleared psr by selling dougie 50mil, kellermann 20mil, tim irebhghen 10mil,

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2024 22:38:24
Todibo is a beast whack would be an upgrade over carlos

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2024 22:54:44
£117m spent is spread over 5 years or what ever where as the money brought in is off the balance straight away

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2024 23:38:22
The thing with Villa is that we had to satisfy PSR by june 30th which ended that financial period after we achieved that we move into 24/25 period which is a whole new ball game, we have substantially increased income thanks to Chris Heck so there is that to consider as it will increase spending power, we also have champions league money and the increased income from those matches to include.
so it's difficult to say exactly how we sit, basically what we spend now we will have to balance the books by June 30th 2025 but we have that extra income as stated, Villa and Monchi will not buy players that we can't afford so whoever we get in we should be assured that the maths has already been done.

Is Ramsey going to Spuds in a swap deal with del Cleso plus 20 million in cash are their any truth in these rumours

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Jul 2024 23:39:33
Old rubbish if you ask me, Unai wants to keep Ramsey and Ramsey is happy to stay so for me this isn't happening.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2024 14:15:49
I agree OneAV, couldn’t see Ramsey wanting to leave for spurs instead of playing champions league with his boyhood club, city, arsenal or Liverpool you could understand but spuds are pathetic

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jul 2024 21:21:18
Rumours are that Spurs are closing in for Ramsey, £19m + Celso.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Jul 2024 08:47:34
No chance, lo Celso not worth 5 million in the last year of contract, Ramsey won’t leave for less than 50 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2024 11:40:21
We allegedly have an interest in Kulusevski I wonder if an exchange deal can be brokered with him coming to VP as part of any deal for Ramsey?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2024 20:12:51
Whack, sorry to say this but the rumour is getting stronger and stronger to ignore. If it goes ahead then Unai must see something in Celso that he likes.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2024 21:20:11
Emery had Lo Celso at PSG I think so knows the player, but I agree with Whack that we are undervaluing Ramsey if the deal is Lo Celso + £20 million, In the final year of his contract Lo Celso is worth £15 million tops therefore I would expect at least £30 million makeweight to make the deal happen. As Diaby is off, and Spurs are trying to sign Pedro Neto from Wolves if we let Ramsey go we should ask for Kulesevski as part of the package rather than Lo Celso.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2024 21:33:01
Whilst the rumour may be getting stronger it does not make it true, why pay 50 million for Onana if your interested is swapping 1 of your young stars with 2 season’s senior experience for a 28 year old soon to be out of contract plus a measly 20 million that you got for a kid who barely kicked a ball with the senior team, makes no football sense or business sense, rumours Diaby was sold for 50 million last week but still no medical, they are just rumours copied and pasted, I ain’t saying that a deal won’t happen but it won’t happen at that price, maybe if the throw in kulesevski it might make more sense.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jul 2024 22:29:12
Agree and why would we sell to 1 of our rivals aswell

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2024 07:59:17
Hope you are right but I am not convinced.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jul 2024 15:01:22
So apparently MANU have tried to hijack our agreement at the last moment with Everton for Onana. Despite being offered better terms he has said he will honour his promise to Unai.
Hope we beat MU and Onana scores the winning goal.

19 Jul 2024 15:57:37
What an honourable guy.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jul 2024 18:30:37
Certainly appears like he has honoured his obligation with us.
Let’s hope he’s the player we all want him to be now. Not many Everton fans seem too upset about him leaving, certainly not for the fee we’ve paid.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2024 01:03:58
There is player in onana from Everton fan but he goes missing quite bit he has all attributes to dominate midfield but he doesn't. Think lot fans got fed up with him when he did stupid pen in cup. Plus most fans expected him to go anyway properly not villa like but to arsenal. He struggled to get in team back end season he just not effective in sean dyche system he suit emery style more.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2024 17:18:59
Want at least 60 million for Dialby they are that desperate they will pay it

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Jul 2024 17:40:28
Think he’s going. Will be c£50m plus add ons in my opinion.
Will open up the opportunity for more signings but which position needs strengthening? Forward? Central Defender?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2024 22:50:05
Seems pointless to sell him without making any real profit seeing as we will need to replace him and he’s a good player. If the money was £70m I’d half understand but it’s basically what we paid

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2024 23:51:13
Both and now we need another class winger

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2024 09:26:02
Jonny speculation is that Monchi is looking to replace him with Nico Williams.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2024 14:15:34
Williams allegedly wants wages of circa £250 k a week. I can’t see us paying him that kind of money.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jul 2024 18:47:09
55 million plus add on’s is my guess. Going to be interesting this, I can’t see him not getting replaced with a real statement signing. exciting times, dani olmo is another I wouldn’t be surprised to see if it wasn’t Williams, Emery and Monchi plus champions league is a huge pull for Spanish talent.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2024 19:17:03
Based on Williams’s Euro performances, I’d drive over to Bilbao and fetch him back myself, though Barcelona and Arsenal are also in the picture 🤔

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2024 23:50:37
I would pay Williams at the very least whatever it was we agreed to pay Coutinho tbh.I’d love him at Villa though, but I think he will end up at Barcelona, especially after how well he partnered with Yamal.

To reply to trinity I would say central defence is probably our strongest position already no?
Torres, Konsa, Carlos, Mings? One of the best 4s in the league. It’s a RB and a couple of attacking players I think we are lacking personally.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2024 23:35:59
Pretty sure Williams is wanting 350k not 250k along with a rather significant signing on fee which I’d imagine would be towards the £10m mark.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jul 2024 18:33:57
@Nebu if Mings returns the player he was before his injury, I agree, but it is an unknown at this stage. Not saying we should buy just in case but we might have to if he struggles in pre-season if he even features?

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jul 2024 12:16:01
Fair comment, I guess it really does depend on what kind of Mings returns!
