Every time you read the latest villa news, we seem to get more negative news, the latest, our Japanese goalkeeper who is likely to be missing for quite a few games in the Asian games in January/ February. I hope we get a better back up than Bizot to cover his absence.

We will lose Suzuki for a number of games after Christmas for the Asia cup. Would anyone take Aaron Ramsdale from Southampton, he is number 4 in pecking order there and definitely better than Bizot who scares the life out of me.
We haven't had a decent number 2 for a very long time and I think he would be a good option. It wasn't that long ago he was playing for Arsenal and pushing Pickford for Englands number 1.

So all the talk now in media and online is that unai will jump to man utd here we go again he wont go to united yes there a bigger club but there finished and damaged club from top to bottom only 3 jobs i see unai leaving to go to barca, real, and Spain job,and plus why would he risk his reputation by going to united look how many managers have failed as well unai rebuilt his rep by being at villa.

I couldn't see him going to United either, although there are probably a few more clubs than the ones you mentioned where he might move next. I could see him in Italy before United.
I honestly believe he's here for the long haul, if he gets this team clicking he will want to build his legacy.

Donyell Malen is the most prolific stirker anywhere in Europe since his transfer on 18th Jan to Roma.

Possibly one of the worst transfer deals Villa have done in the past 10 years.

One way of looking at it, none of us wanted to see either of them go but 71 million for Malen and Watkins wasn't bad business. in the perfect world Watkins would of left and Malen would be our main man now, we were unlucky with how the cards fell.

A decent enough performance last night. Some positives, Mbaye's pace, Hemmings pace, THB solid, Abraham scoring. Coventry are poor but you can only beat what's in front of you.
Negatives: Bizot, Bogarde and Mings. I know we shouldn't criticise too quickly but the change in our options when Suzuki came on was startling. Bogarde did not look good. Since his debut when he looked a promising youngster his performances have gone backwards. 3 times, at least, he gave the ball away either on the edge of the box or in the penalty area. Far too risky. Mings again tries to look too confident on the ball but his feet just don't seem to keep up with his confidence.
Manzambi started to look more effective and I'm sure he will get better and better. Allyson too, looked bright.
What is happening with Garnacho? Emery's post match comments suggest to me that he's already made his mind up and won't be featuring in many games, certainly not enough to trigger the obligation to buy. We'll see.

Another disconsolate Villan but I fully understand the situation that we are in and I do not want my team losing every week. Losing the spine of the team in one transfer window is bound have a negative affect but I firmly believe that Unai will sort it out.
We have some potentially exciting signings waiting in the wings and I fully expect results to improve after the international break.
Don't lose faith fellow Villans. Imagine a tradesman having his van broken into and his most important tools being stolen. Would he or she be able to function at their best whilst waiting for their tools to be replaced? This unfortunately is the position that Unai finds himself in.
Have patience fellow Villans and let's see what the future holds.

SV. Looks like he has gone after all. He will be remembered by many of us for that season when he was brilliant. I will also never forget how really poor he could be at times. That said, I genuinely wish him and his family well for the next chapter in his career.

Heard that we might be after CB Illya Zabarnyi from PSG on loan. Remember him from Bournemouth and he seemed a good CB in the Premier League.
He must be ok cos PSG signed him and it gives us even more options.

Just realistic, Whack. Liverpool are past masters at doing this kind of thing. They let other clubs do the groundwork, and nip in at the last minute to seal the deal. Munoz was going to Newcastle, Jacquet to Chelsea, and where did they end up. 🤷🏻♂️

I’m told that as part of the Konsa negotiations, we asked about the possibility of taking Nwaneri on loan, however, Arsenal wanted guarantees about game time which we weren’t prepared to commit to. We have also had an initial enquiry from Brighton for Bogarde as a potential replacement for Baleba.
