Latest rumour surrounding Konsa is suggesting Arsenal are close to Villa’s asking price, c£50m+.
Personally, I think if we can get £55-60m we should let him go. 2 years left on his contract which presumably he won’t extend, so we should cash in.

I think Konsa's silence is indicative of the fact he wants the move, and, in fairness, given what he has done for the club, I think that's fair enough, and if he goes it should be with the club's/fans' best wishes.
Apparently we have enquired about Fikayo Tomori at Roma, England international, admittedly a few years back, but the same age as Konsa, asking price £15-20 million.

If we can get that type of deal over the line, I think it works at all levels. Konsa gets to showcase his talents at a club that will be competing at the highest level across multiple competitions, and it gives us opportunities to invest the balance elsewhere on the pitch.

Arsenal have had long enough to come up with the money, but they want to be cheap and mess with our preparations at the same time. They have known for well over a month that they need a CB. They should have picked their top defensive target and gone all out for that target. We have no chance of replacing him at this stage unless we get top dollar. Here’s a better one, tell them if they want one of our first team players, we want one of theirs.

Zubimendi was a bit-part player last year, and with Bruno coming in, he's going to get fewer games this year. Straight swap, or do one. They have been trying to unsettle our players for the last couple of seasons, and coming in with half-hearted offers simply because they don't really want them, they just want to weaken their competition.

Spot on Whackie, the thing I'd add to this is, if Arsenal don't wanna pay £60M, then maybe they & the other 'big 6' clubs vote in favour of the PSR changes that need to happen to level the playing field more, then they won't have to pay £60M for someone who's gonna be a sub in 6 months time. 🤷🏼‍♂️

That's just it. He will be a sub in a few months. He can kiss his England spot goodbye then, as well; he won't be a starter if he's not a starter for his club. He's been a good player for us over the years, but personality-wise I never liked him. I always found him sulky and petulant, very like Rogers in that regard.

For me, Youri and Luca are the ones I'm gutted over. I'd be sorry to see Watkins go as well, if indeed it does happen.
If things keep going the way they are now, with the sly 6 buying any player they want no matter what the price, I can't see supporters having the same interest in football in 5-10 years.

I’m concerned that us fans and the media are putting too much pressure on Madjo. I really hope that he goes on to be a Villa great but let’s have some perspective here. He is a 17 year old lad who is learning his trade. He is not the new Messiah. I too am excited to see him play but let’s not add to his burden by over hyping him.
I intend to enjoy watching him play as he develops and to take the rough with the smooth over the seasons to come.

The same with George Hemmings. He never received the accolades that Madjo did but he too was brilliant against PSG.
Headlines like “Can Madjo play for England?” I find bizarre.
Like most Villains, I will support him while he wears a Villa shirt, however when his form dips, which happens to every player, I hope the fans remember that he is a youngster developing his trade and not the finished article.

100%.
The lad is well and truly in the media spotlight now. I just hope he can keep his feet in the ground and not lose focus. I'm sure Emery will be keeping an eye on him.

Played golf with some pals today (Villa and Blues fans) who were saying that the analyst at Southampton who was involved in binocular-gate is now at the Villa. Not sure if this is true or not?

0

11 Aug 2026 06:48:58
As far as I know it's not true. The guy behind the binoculars was a chap called William Salt, and I believe he is still at Southampton.

11 Aug 2026 09:01:52
William Salt? He did his internship at Villa/Forest/ And if i remember rightly he was on our books at the time the incident happened but wasn't under Villas instruction - we'd basically loaned him to Southampton to finish his studies, he didn't ever return after spygate and joined saints properly last month.

Digne, Dillermans, Rogers. We couldn't even keep Austin MacPhee. Any other disloyal defectors? Amputated team heading into a CL season. Why are people so eager to leave? What's wrong with the organization? Sure we can get Garnacho, Sancho and a few other faulty players and with a bit of luck all will be good while the big teams thrive and AV fans will have to test their loyalty once again. Sure the nets and grass will be there come start of the season?

That's £160M in fees received (minus M'boro's cut) & I'd say around £400K in wages gone per week minimum (more if you count what Sancho would've been on). I think we're sitting pretty. More players will join, & they'll be Emery players, icing on the cake would be getting Endrick.

What on earth are you talking about?
I sense you may be a known poster on this site trying to be mischievous.
I wonder who, though?

2

11 Aug 2026 16:44:35
What?

Guessard to Eagles with a loan and obligation to buy for 20 million once he passes 20 appearances.

2

08 Aug 2026 19:29:17
That wouldn't be bad for us but they have to want him, do they want him? Is this a rumour or just something you thought of?

1

11 Aug 2026 20:49:41
Please sneak Mings into Guessand's suitcase when he leaves!

Arse want Konsa.

08 Aug 2026 20:54:10
Already spotted Konsa in the Hong Kong kit shoot and ads on buildings.

09 Aug 2026 06:41:50
Arsenal or L'pool kit?

Heard the Rogers deal was submitted a few days before it was announced, so it might be a possibility that Jackson could sign after the 45 day UEFA window but before the transfer window closes. If true, would be around 31st-1st.

Fenerbahce want Watkins on loan. How braindead do they think we are? Ollie might as well retire if he moved to Turkey.

1

02 Aug 2026 09:19:57
If he goes there on loan, maybe we should go for Osimhen from Galatasaray on loan. 😂

Juve not much better. Constantly looking for first team players from other teams, but don’t want to hand over money for them. Sky report that they ended their pursuit of Martinez. I wouldn’t call what they were doing “pursuing”, more like begging and trying to unsettle our player. How the mighty have fallen.

I think back to the players they had when they were a powerhouse of football: Pavel Nedved, Alessandro Del Piero, Trezeguet, Edgar Davids, Thuram, Buffon, Zidane, the list is endless. Now they are the beggars of Europe, on your bike and don’t come back without your chequebook.

My gut tells me Emi will go to Saudi & they'll probably pay what we want for him.

I think he sees out his contract, then goes to Saudi. I'd rather just keep him until his contract expires. Not worth a huge amount, and it costs a fortune to replace him.

They’re still pumping the story about Jackson, even though we’d shaft ourselves with the PSR & probably the UEFA fine thing if we did sign him. Loads of talk about Ollie leaving, but I think that’s more bs.

I know someone who knows someone whose kids go to the same school/nursery as Ollie's, & from what’s been said it’s more likely he’s gonna sign a contract extension cos he’s settled in the Midlands.

I'm a little worried about the Watkins thing, to be honest. If we had a 25 million bid turned down for a striker, it means we're looking for one. We have Watkins, Tammy and Madjo.

Worst case, we have to wait till January for Madjo. Kinda says to me that a striker is going, and I can't see anyone buying Tammy for a decent chunk of the 20 million we spent on him.

Hi Allstar, I know someone who lives near Ollie and his wife, and she said they are happy in the Midlands and the rumours are bs.

The papers, Sky etc, are just w***** ain't they? Not just cos I'm Villa, but I really hope we shove it up 'em this season.

The 25 million bid rejected is for a Brazilian right winger. Allan from Palmeiras.

Mbaye of PSG turned us down.

1

27 Jul 2026 20:33:05
The plot thickens on that 1. My timeline might be a bit off, but I’ve read that Mbaye wanted to sign for Villa. There’s also a picture of his parents at Villa (maybe Bodymoor Heath) holding a Villa shirt with his name & the number 49 on it, but he’s switched agents & to Jorge Mendes, who wants him to join a 'bigger' club. So far, no takers. I might be wrong, but guess who Garnacho's agent is. 🤔 Also Mendes, as far as I know. This is what I don’t get. As his (Mbaye's) agent, wouldn’t he have been better to advise him to join a club like Villa for, let’s say, £40M, be on a good wage, let him rip it up in the Prem, which would mean his price doubling, and maybe more, then if he was sold to a 'bigger' club, Mendes would be quids in again.

🤷🏼‍♂️ I think he’s played this 1 totally wrong on behalf of his client, but on the plus side for him, he’s solved his Garnacho problem. Agents are c***s, end of story. God knows how many careers they’ve ruined. 🤬

28 Jul 2026 11:18:18
Yeah, the agent change seems to have changed everything. He's gone from sounding like he wants to play and improve to being more than happy to sit on Man City's bench and get rich.

1

28 Jul 2026 20:25:38
The agent is also getting richer and he really doesn't care once he's placed a player.

Just been looking at the isolated touches of Keba Cisse against Porto. There’s our replacement for Konsa if he leaves. The guy can pick a pass too.

26 Jul 2026 20:27:44
So sell Konsa, as we have his replacement?

26 Jul 2026 21:36:31
And who do we replace Konsa with 🤔🤔 UTV.

27 Jul 2026 00:07:26
In order... If Villa get £60M for Konsa, yes, & secondly, Keba Cisse. 🤷🏼‍♂️

27 Jul 2026 00:52:03
Also... I think Taylor Harwood Bellis of Southampton would be worth looking at, the guy is solid & a leader. We've been linked with a No9 from Levante called Carlos Espi. He looks like a Liam Delap kind of striker, or Chris Wood, great in the air. I think he has a buy out clause of EUR25M.

27 Jul 2026 12:29:00
I wonder if Unai is going to totally revamp the forward line, and bring in Espi and Jackson, and sell Watkins and Abraham?

27 Jul 2026 16:04:27
In some ways we are predictable, changing things up isn't a bad thing.

26 Jul 2026 08:02:02
Another left back worth looking at is Oliver Scarles of West Ham if we’re looking to get the age of the squad down. 20 y/o & remember when he played against us, was their standout player for me.

Rumour going round that Torres has done his ACL too.

26 Jul 2026 01:03:06
Tomori would be a great replacement.

26 Jul 2026 13:47:47
According to Buendia, the Torres story is lies. Hopefully he's right, as we can't afford to lose another first teamer.
