Heard the Rogers deal was submitted a few days before it was announced, so it might be a possibility that Jackson could sign after the 45 day UEFA window but before the transfer window closes. If true, would be around 31st-1st.

I think back to the players they had when they were a powerhouse of football: Pavel Nedved, Alessandro Del Piero, Trezeguet, Edgar Davids, Thuram, Buffon, Zidane, the list is endless. Now they are the beggars of Europe, on your bike and donāt come back without your chequebook.

I think he sees out his contract, then goes to Saudi. I'd rather just keep him until his contract expires. Not worth a huge amount, and it costs a fortune to replace him.

Theyāre still pumping the story about Jackson, even though weād shaft ourselves with the PSR & probably the UEFA fine thing if we did sign him. Loads of talk about Ollie leaving, but I think thatās more bs.
I know someone who knows someone whose kids go to the same school/nursery as Ollie's, & from whatās been said itās more likely heās gonna sign a contract extension cos heās settled in the Midlands.

I'm a little worried about the Watkins thing, to be honest. If we had a 25 million bid turned down for a striker, it means we're looking for one. We have Watkins, Tammy and Madjo.
Worst case, we have to wait till January for Madjo. Kinda says to me that a striker is going, and I can't see anyone buying Tammy for a decent chunk of the 20 million we spent on him.

The plot thickens on that 1. My timeline might be a bit off, but Iāve read that Mbaye wanted to sign for Villa. Thereās also a picture of his parents at Villa (maybe Bodymoor Heath) holding a Villa shirt with his name & the number 49 on it, but heās switched agents & to Jorge Mendes, who wants him to join a 'bigger' club. So far, no takers. I might be wrong, but guess who Garnacho's agent is. š¤ Also Mendes, as far as I know. This is what I donāt get. As his (Mbaye's) agent, wouldnāt he have been better to advise him to join a club like Villa for, letās say, Ā£40M, be on a good wage, let him rip it up in the Prem, which would mean his price doubling, and maybe more, then if he was sold to a 'bigger' club, Mendes would be quids in again.

Also... I think Taylor Harwood Bellis of Southampton would be worth looking at, the guy is solid & a leader. We've been linked with a No9 from Levante called Carlos Espi. He looks like a Liam Delap kind of striker, or Chris Wood, great in the air. I think he has a buy out clause of EUR25M.

I think we all agreed come the end of the season the squad needed strengthening, however maybe not in the way it has transpired, i.e. Tielemans going and Onanaās ACL injury. Gomes can replace Onanaās bite in the midfield. Garnacho will provide pace out wide and Manzambi will be the box-to-box midfielder, so thatās all fine.
However, both Tielemans and Rogers had the ability to take a ball in tight spaces, on the half turn and drive onto the oppositionās back four. Iām not sure any of the signings to date tick that box, nor do any of the players we are being linked with. I wonder if Emery is going to tinker with how we play next season?

I'm thinking a bit more positive about it all now. We haven't replaced 'like for like', imo, we've replaced for the (potentially) better. I think Onana would've been gone if it wasn't for his injury & been replaced with someone that ain't made of glass. Manzambi has more to his game than Rogers. Not sour grapes cos he's left, he's just more versatile & seems more energetic. It'll just be different next season & different could mean finishing higher, winning another trophy.
Lots of talk about Watkins & Konsa going. Don't think we've heard the last of Martinez leaving either. Going on the prices quoted, if they went for north of Ā£100M, they will get replaced with younger players. & we have our loaned out players back that could do a job too, Madjo & Allyson could be in & around the 1st team too, all positives. šš»

Iām actually feeling pretty confident about the Garnacho deal.
Letās be honest, Man Utd and Chelsea have been basket case clubs for a couple of seasons and deflecting the issues they clearly have behind the scenes on to young footballers is the easiest way of apportioning blame.
Not saying these young lads are totally blameless but just look at those clubs and the managers theyāve had recently.
