Southampton have agreed a deal to sign a centre back from Augsburg. Does this mean that Harwood-Bellis is leaving?
Would we be looking at him as well as Ordonez or instead of?
Still waiting for Goretzka announcement, which I assume is imminent.
What of the attacking options we're apparently looking at, nothing concrete yet?
Watkins hasn't left the building yet has he?

Looks like you may have hit the nail on the head, 74. Ordonez is off to Palace. The only thing I'd say is Ordonez is currently injured, so it would be 4-5 weeks before he's even fit again.
I don't know. What a transfer window this has been, and not in a great way so far.

Rogers confirmed then. £15m with add-ons. Seems a tad high but January is a sellers market.

£65m+ for Jackson is a lot of money imo. Hope we can get £50m+ for Watkins to partially offset it.
Haven't heard anymore on the Goretzka and Ordonez deals though?
1.) 26 Aug 2026 22:19:23
We get 50 million for Watkins. Jackson is only costing an initial 48 million, the add-ons bring it up to 65. I imagine he would have to score 20+ goals, and we qualify for the Champions League, for us to pay the full amount.

Well Eds what are your thoughts right now?
I can't believe what I've seen this half!
{Ed001's Note - I just can't believe how Liverpool just keep throwing away easy wins against such a poor side.}
1.) 07 Apr 2024 18:44:03
It’s that time of the season for most clubs. Squeaky bum time.
2.) 07 Apr 2024 19:42:20
Ed try being a Villa fan mate, we are doing the same and have done for a while, I see spurs are in total control this afternoon.Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Brighton to come, it's hide behind the settee time. Fourth is out of it for me, just hope Newcastle, West Ham, Man U don't repeat this weekends results or we really could be under pressure for fifth.
3.) 07 Apr 2024 22:10:04
Man Utd drew so happy for them to carry that on and come on Scotty, suggesting West Ham or Newcastle will overtake us is taking the biscuit in terms of negativity.

Agreed Rk, whatever happens it’s being a season for celebration, the club is moving in the right direction, first year back in Europe for many a year and a real hope of a trophy from it, we are still a couple of players short to go a full season toe to toe with the established top 4 or 5, we were going great until injuries started to impede emery’s team selection, I still believe we have a few big performances left in us this season, if we can nab 10 more points I’m sure we will play champions league next season.

I see we've been linked with a new shirt sponsor, Betano?
£40m over 2 years. That should ease any FFP concerns.
What do people think of yet another gambling sponsor?
My thoughts, if we want to compete these are the sort of deals which are necessary. Morally it might not feel right but unfortunately we're in a world where greed dominates.
This deal plus Adidas shirt deal should see us financially secure for next few years.
1.) 22 Mar 2024 08:25:57
Agreed 1974 money talk nowadays if this what is needed then so be it!
2.) 22 Mar 2024 16:14:34
Yep hopefully we won't have to sell 1 of the crown jewels like dougie
17 Mar 2024 16:09:05
Well, we got away with that. VAR has been our friend today.
That point could be massive come the end of the season.
Zaniolo saviour again.
Bit of a break now to get some rest into those legs.

No hiding from that today. Spurs the much better team. Pressed us all over the pitch and made us look ordinary at best.
The last 4 home games in the league we've conceded 11 goals. That is relegation bad.
Yes we looked a bit leggy no doubt from Thursday but Spurs capitalised on that.
We must bounce back, first at home to Ajax then away to West Ham.
This is the crossroads of our season right now.
1.) 10 Mar 2024 16:20:56
Don’t fully agree with all that, a team that had no shot in the first half made us look ordinary? Yes their first goal was fantastic play from them but the second was just a mistake from 1 player, albeit one my 8 year old wouldn’t do but it didn’t come from anything amazing that spurs did, after the red it’s no longer a contest with tired legs chasing a game
2.) 10 Mar 2024 17:05:38
A very sensible reaction Whack!
Everything that could go wrong today, did! Our typically flawless manager made a selection mistake and gave Spurs too much respect, uncharacteristic mistakes by players like Konsa, a very harsh red card (I don't know how anybody can genuinely argue that was deserved) and playing a team who are absolute killers when they smell blood! It's a cocktail of disasters that could only ever end one way, we will bounce back, I'm 100% sure!

My biggest fear is Emery loses patience with the EPL and all the BS that goes with it.
He is one of the top managers in the world of football.
Simply cannot afford to see him go.
I don't think for one minute that any decision like that would be made because of comments made on websites like this or in social media.
He's smarter than that.
Oh, and welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll smile, laugh and even be angered by some of the comments on here, but we all want the same, success.

Bailey!? Christ, he's still there, isn't he!!
26 Aug 2026 14:21:34
I would not want David. Whoever we buy, though, isn't going to please all of the fanbase.
We need 2 centre backs, though, that is a must. Why is Mings still at the club? His best days are long behind him.
26 Aug 2026 14:18:26
It's a bit of a worry that is true. I'm not sure what to make of this current situation. Should we have brought someone in knowing that Konsa was almost certain to leave? I would say so. Is patience the name of the game to get the defender(s) we want? I see Southampton have agreed a deal to buy a centre back from Germany.
That surely means that Taylor H-B is on his way to somewhere, us?
I'm also concerned about the striker situation. Watkins hasn't gone anywhere yet. I guess we're waiting to sort our side of things before he does. Who knows?
It does have the feel of a panic buy at the end of the window.

To be fair Whack, we’ve shot ourselves in the foot this weekend and quite a few other games too.
These results are just magnified at this stage of the season because there’s so much at stake and so little time to put things right if you lose a game.
