That's Samatta gone - Sky Sports.
1.) 25 Sep 2020 14:10:10
On Wednesday, when I said he was off, I'm sure you said his Dad said he wasn't going š.
2.) 25 Sep 2020 16:31:34
Correct. It was meant as a sarcastic remark against the excessive paper rumours we are getting.
3.) 25 Sep 2020 19:33:05
Hmmmš¤.
23 Sep 2020 16:39:20
Reports from Spain we are interested in Mallorca striker Ante Budimir for £13m.
1.) 23 Sep 2020 17:14:13
Not sure I understand this one, he doesnāt fit the age profile of what we are supposedly looking for and his goals to games ratio isnāt that great probably why the fee is relatively low for a striker these days, I canāt help wondering if he is another Borja?
2.) 23 Sep 2020 17:34:45
Agreed Villajohn, can't see Villa spending that amount on someone like him. Having spent as much as we have already I can only see them getting older players in if they are quality and cheap (at least fee wise) to boost quality for a season or two. Only serious money will be spent on younger players now inline with the recruitment strategy and player profile already stated by Purslow.
3.) 25 Sep 2020 01:12:11
I can see Lange and Smith raising reserve options if their chosen negotiations go awry. If there is any truth in this one, I would imagine it falls into that back up category.
We must make enquiries for plenty during the window with only a fraction ever developing into deals.
17 sep 2020 16:23:36
i have seen this on a couple of sites.
" west brom trying to hijack £9m aston villa player's transfer, think baggies could appeal more".
would you sell Samatta to the baggies?
1.) 17 Sep 2020 17:13:43
Loan to Turkey or another league hopefully he does ok so they buy him but I wouldn't give him to tesco fc or any other bottom 6 side.
2.) 17 Sep 2020 18:51:14
Yeah, I'd sell him to them in a heartbeat. If he goes on loan and does nothing we won't be able to sell him and will have to pay him for 4 more years.
3.) 18 Sep 2020 14:13:56
There was a suggestion that we wanted a compulsory āloan to buyā agreement with the Turks. If we canāt secure that, I wouldnāt be averse to selling him to the Baggies.
We do need ample cover for Ollie though and I donāt think Davis is enough. I know Traore has played in the centre, but an additional specialist/ fairly regular front man would be my aim. I notice we seem to be eyeing Brewster again, probably just to pā- oā Gene Wilder, once more, at the Blades.
16 Sep 2020 21:39:34
Scott Hogan transfer from Villa now confirmed by BBC, fee not disclosed.
16 Sep 2020 21:24:15
Hogan gone to Blues on 4 yr contract according to Bham Mail on line.
1.) 16 Sep 2020 21:45:28
Yep. 4 years! Madness. Fee is āundisclosedā but minimal return on the Ā£9m we shelled out I bet. Saw one āITKā claiming itās Ā£950k. He did alright on loan there pre-lockdown, maybe itāll work out for him. Frees up space in the squad anyway.
2.) 16 Sep 2020 21:58:57
Iām just glad we no longer have to pay his wages.
3.) 17 Sep 2020 09:16:18
Apparently weāre paying Ā£400k contribution to his wages for the year (wouldāve been last year of his contract) . If the fee is as reported (c. Ā£1m), thatās a massive Ā£600k into the coffers š¤£
But. heās gone. Good luck to him, just never fit in.
4.) 17 Sep 2020 13:56:50
Apparently Hogan missed the signing form, but its been explained that the noses didn't hand him the pen to his strengths. š¤ I'll get my coat (again) š.

Another great leaves us.
RIP Martin Bell.
1.) 05 Jan 2021 20:22:22
Think you mean Colin, Aka.
2.) 05 Jan 2021 20:57:57
Sorry mark of course I did.
3.) 05 Jan 2021 21:27:10
No worries mate, š.
01 Dec 2020 17:33:24
C.V. means Villa v Newcastle has been postponed.
Newcastle apparently have several cases.
1.) 01 Dec 2020 18:53:31
I think itās good as it gives Ross time to recover from his injury.
15 Nov 2020 19:01:17
So Grealish and Mings in Southgate's starting eleven,
15 Nov 2020 16:50:59
We are loosing a lot of star players at the moment, not least Ray Clemence. RIP.
1.) 15 Nov 2020 19:32:50
Yes Aka, RIP Ray Clemence,
30 Oct 2020 16:44:55
So Nobby Stiles has passed away, RIP.
It is so sad to see all these losses of our 1966 World Cup Winners. There are not many left now.
I was 16 at the time and can still remember the game well and the excitement at the time. I was on holidays in Spain with mom and dad for the early rounds and remember the locals all piled around the only tv in their street watching it and they welcomed us as 'future' cup winners.
Those were good days for football.
1.) 30 Oct 2020 18:10:55
Nice story Aka, and RIP Nobby. They would never have pulled it off without him. Not one of the glamour players but he kept EusƩbio quiet in the semis and that was no mean feat. Will always remember the scene after the match, World Cup in one hand and the false teeth in the other.
I was 6 at the time Aka, but still remember it well, would be nice if England could do it again in our lifetimes.
2.) 30 Oct 2020 18:46:20
I always felt sorry for Jimmy Greaves our number 1 goal scorer at the time and virtually guaranteed of his place. He got injured in an earlier match, was replaced by Geoff Hurst who went on to an historical hat trick in the final.
What a team that was which included the Charlton Brothers, Captain Bobby Moore and arguably one of the greatest goalkeepers ever Gordon Banks.
3.) 30 Oct 2020 19:13:46
Yeah great memories lads, I was 16 as well Aka, a bit older with more stupid habits than you Mark at 6 yrs, like creeping of for a fag š
I was on Holiday in Great Yarmouth with a mate of mine, his parents chaperoned us, well they thought they did, šš
But great times for the nation, I think the closest we had to an England player then was big Tony Hateley.
4.) 30 Oct 2020 19:23:47
I wonder if Gerry Hitchens would have had a chance if he hadnāt gone to Italy a few years earlier? Though probably not as he may have been to old.
I remember him and Peter McParland having a good partnership with Villa several years before the World Cup and he was my boyhood favourite at one time.
Memories.
5.) 30 Oct 2020 19:37:08
Probably a bit too old in 1966, but did play 8 times for England Aka, he was a good payer though.
6.) 30 Oct 2020 19:57:07
Good memories VD. We used To go to the same old caravan site in Wales every summer for our holidays in the 60ās. Tony Hately and his family used to come down too for at least a couple of weeks - obviously in a much better caravan - the ā lads and dadsā footie Match was a foregone conclusion even with Mark being 9 like me. I think Tony was earning just a bit more than my Dad then who was an engineer. Different times š.
7.) 30 Oct 2020 20:36:16
Another nice story MD, Its great to reminisce about the old times, it gets a hold of me a bit, and it can stir the emotions.
8.) 30 Oct 2020 20:57:38
The matches I always loved Dave were the midweek ones against Spurs under floodlights with a full house. I used to stand behind the goal at the Holte end in those days.
I canāt remember winning many of them but the matches always seemed so much more exciting when you were young.
I can still remember my dad buying a player badge for me at each match we went to and the good old fashioned rattle that I used to use.
Those were the days.
9.) 30 Oct 2020 22:27:12
you stood pretty close to where I used to stand Aka, sometimes on my dads shoulders, and sometimes round the cinder track round the edge of the pitch so we could see.
Fantastic with a cup of Bovril, and a huge wooden rattle swinging round your head, brilliant mate.
10 Oct 2020 18:35:43
If I remember correctly Fergusonās first 3 yrs at Man U were 11th, 2nd and 11th and on the verge of being Dismissed.
The rest is History.
Perhaps DS is following a similar path?
05 Oct 2020 19:38:43
Surprise Surprise.
05 Oct 2020 18:39:41
Personally I think we moved on from him a while ago.
All the links with him were caused by his club and agent trying to get a good deal on him.
05 Oct 2020 18:03:17
Thatās what Bham Mail are saying.
30 Sep 2020 14:56:08
It gets BETTER and BETTER!
Onwards and upwards.
UTV.
11 Jan 2021 18:25:38
Match postponed being replaced by Spurs v Fulham.
11 Jan 2021 12:32:29
Now looks like Spurs will be playing Fulham on Wed and not Villa.
10 Jan 2021 14:06:31
Hello oldvillan, nice to hear of your vax experience.
I still have to wait awhile for my jab as I am 71 in Feb and in group 4. Like you my wife is younger and in group 5.
I too have noticed a lot more people ignoring the rules this time round though we are only venturing out to do our weekly shopping and a short isolated walk each day.
07 Jan 2021 16:06:52
With many clubs now reporting CV outbreaks I suspect football will soon come grinding to a halt.
05 Jan 2021 20:57:57
Sorry mark of course I did.
