Hi
I have been a Villa supporter for 63 years and I have finally become totally disillusioned by the way football is run.
I noticed that after Pep moaned about Marc Guhei being cup tied the rules were changed. It seems the authorities will do anything to maintain the top six, can’t have upstarts like Palace winning again.
This is of course the tip of the Iceberg, 3 years waiting for the Man City report, yet those top teams, Everton, Forest and Leicester are docked points immediately.
The transfer market is practically a no go for teams like Villa and Newcastle who are debt free. Look at Spurs though, just shy of a billion in debt but still paying out top dollar for players even though Spurs can no longer be classed as top six, or is this the amount of managers they have had this season? Spurs debt repayments each year are £38.7 million, the Villa player spend over 3 years £40 million approx, how can this be fair?
Isn’t it about time that the slate is wiped clean, if your owners want to spend, let them.
Football is a business after all but it should be a fair business where if you have the money you can spend it.
When the City report comes out what is the odds that they won’t be able to buy players for 2 years but will come into effect a week after the end of the Summer transfers?
At the moment it appears a corrupt affair. I am just waiting for the last game of the season if Spurs need 3 points to stay up, who would vote against them getting the win by any means possible.

You are aware Douglas Luiz played for Forest and us in this seasons competition and the rules weren't changed because of Pep
This whole world against Aston Villa act needs to stop

What on Earth is happening at VP, we can't seem to get any deals done?
Say what you like about Monchi but if Emery wanted a player he got him without all this failure.
1.) 26 Aug 2026 22:02:17
Sure, Monchi done great business like Guessand and Elliot, the recruitment does seem to be a bit of a s***show, but Monchi was no better.
23 Aug 2026 16:18:03
I wouldn't let Watkins leave until we have a replacement full stop.
As for saying let Mings go, why would we even consider it after that performance from Torres? He was rubbish and to be honest I didn't rate him last season.
1.) 23 Aug 2026 16:40:45
He refused to play today. Been a great servant, but he can now f*** off. Was a legend, but leaving as a rat, good riddance!
2.) 23 Aug 2026 16:48:23
He is still a legend. Don't blame him. He will sort his family out for life. Best of luck to him. Big things need to happen.
3.) 23 Aug 2026 17:02:47
No Tom, refusing to play for your club is a disgrace; they still pay his wages!
He knew how short we were up top today, and refusing to play is a piss take in my eye.
He could have played today and said his goodbyes to the fans; that way he would have left a legend. I hope he doesn't make one of those goodbye videos, he will get slated.
4.) 23 Aug 2026 17:06:50
He has no loyalty to Aston Villa. Why would he want to play and risk his big money move?
5.) 23 Aug 2026 17:12:56
Because they pay his bloody wages, that's why!
6.) 23 Aug 2026 17:53:03
I can't blame Watkins. Our record goal scorer in the Premier League, one of the main reasons we are where we are, and a huge portion of the fans could not wait to get rid of him.
If you get stick every day at work and then all the other half decent employees leave in a short space of time, you'd be jumping at the chance to earn double anywhere else.
Nobody is staying on that ship to then be further criticised for not single handedly holding down the fort.
He probably does have to go, just to show us how much we'll miss what he brought to the team, not that it'll make our miserable fans any more appreciative of future stars.
7.) 23 Aug 2026 17:57:13
Should f*** off. The sooner the better, in my opinion.
To those who say "he's not a fan", we pay his bloody wages!
Tell your gaffer you're not working tomorrow because you might have a better offer. See how that works.
Turned from fan favourite to absolute s***house.
8.) 23 Aug 2026 18:00:08
Like I said, RK, he could have played today and left a legend after all. He phoned up Emery and asked to play against PSG, but no. For me, he is done, and yes, everyone would want more money, but he has tarnished his Villa career in one afternoon.
9.) 23 Aug 2026 18:26:45
It might have changed things for you personally, Daz, but if he had played, it wouldn't have made any difference to the masses that don't understand that Watkins is one of the best, just because they focus only on one thing.
It's not like he promised us anything like Downing or Delph did.
Managers leave players out of teams while offers are in all the time because they might not be focused. This isn't really any different.
10.) 23 Aug 2026 18:43:17
Totally agree, RK, with regards the masses, as you know, I will back any manager and player, but refusing to play is in itself inexcusable. imo
11.) 23 Aug 2026 19:25:30
Remember a week or so ago (just before a sniff of the Saudis being after him) I said I 'know someone who knows someone' about Ollie being settled in the Midlands as regards his family/kids/school/kids friends? Now he wants to uproot all that for more money even though his family are happy here & are more than set up for life already? It just shows me the kind of man he is. Let's say he's on £150K per week (minimum) & he's got at least 2 years left on his contract, even more set up for life & I'm sure if he left at the end of that to go for 1 more payday in Saudi, USA or wherever he'd go with our best wishes.
Now we know where he stands, then absolutely 100% we should only let him go for what the club wants for him, he'll understand that as money is his God now. Why should it be any different for us as the selling club. ??♂️

12.) 23 Aug 2026 20:17:30
Obviously, I don't get why we are considering selling Watkins for, say, 50 million, with Al Hilal and those Saudi clubs practically swimming in money; let em pay 80 million if they want him so badly! To them it means nothing whether it's 50 or 80 million.
22 Aug 2026 20:39:16
Anyone having a little laugh at Man Utd and Spurs today, all that money and still s***.
1.) 23 Aug 2026 00:38:58
Heard Youri had an awful game too.
Money ain't going to fix their problems.
20 Aug 2026 11:54:22
Just reading what Richard Masters, the CEO of the Premier League, has just said about financial control really made my blood boil. Apparently Villa should be happy that they have had a good season and basically shut up.
He fails to understand that certain teams attracted rich owners who pumped millions into the clubs and then the door was shut to the others.
If he really wanted a fair system, he should look at overall club debt, not just spending on players.
The whole system is rigged. Just look at Chelsea, 74 charges outstanding and then a fraud charge.
Why weren't the police involved? How many titles and cups and money did they win due to the fraud? The Premier League reaction: fine the £47m and stop them buying academy players for 12 months; why not a complete transfer ban?
I think this is the first year since I started watching Villa in 1963 that I just can't feel excited about the season start, because I know if we finish in the top 6 we will be forced to sell our best players next year, a vicious cycle if you are not one of the big 6.
1.) 20 Aug 2026 14:14:37
Saw that article too, Plufgy. Wonder who he supports? Hasn't there been a case brought by Burnley against Everton that they won over loss of revenue, when Everton didn't get docked points till the following season, which resulted in Burnley going down? If cases are won against Chelski, if they (ever, tick tock) have points deducted, then anyone affected should sue them too.
Think only then you'll see a change in the rules. And the last thing you said, I'm super excited for the season ahead cos we're gonna shake things up. Eff the big 6!

2.) 20 Aug 2026 15:25:54
If we get too close to the big clubs, you can be sure "specific referees" will be appointed for some matches to "control the rankings".
3.) 20 Aug 2026 15:59:48
& VAR Labrador owners. ?
UTV.
4.) 20 Aug 2026 16:04:15
Hi Allstar,
The thing that annoys me about Chelsea is that, because of the fraud, they won mega millions, and the fine should be proportionate to the winnings they got whilst committing the fraud.
If not, a huge fine, perhaps have them redistribute that money throughout all the clubs in the division at that time.
5.) 20 Aug 2026 18:41:44
Big 6 though, aren't they, Pluffy? (spelt your name right this time. ?) Citeh as well. Simon Jordan had a good rant about PSR on TalkSport, & he was spot on. Only 7 clubs have won the Prem in 33 years. Leicester & Blackburn were the only clubs outside the big 6 to do it.
Blackburn bought the title, at least Leicester earned it. Then, the next season, they had to sell their best players. Make that make sense. ??♂️
UTV.
6.) 20 Aug 2026 19:38:13
Hi Allstar, yes, I saw that article by Simon Jordan, a football man who, in my opinion, would be excellent as the CEO of the Premier League. He knows what it takes to run a football club, not like these money men who are scared to upset the Big Six.
16 Aug 2026 15:47:18.
Watching Arsenal in the Charity Shield, and I think if Konza goes to them he will be sitting on the bench most of the season. I think the "big six" buy players from the likes of Villa just to ensure they will always qualify for the rich European tournaments.
1.) 16 Aug 2026 17:37:57
Pluffy, they will look at it as weakening Villa.
2.) 16 Aug 2026 19:41:45
I agree, Dave, it does seem that the top 6 want to qualify for Europe every year and the easy way to do it is to weaken teams like us.
I still can't get my head round why debt for ground development should be any different to going in debt to improve the playing side.
Football is probably the only business where owners can't spend their money to compete with other businesses.
I can see the day when football will be less attractive if your team are not allowed to compete.
3.) 16 Aug 2026 20:17:40
Pluffy, as we've seen, they just change the rules to suit whoever's involved. I definitely think if Konsa goes, it's to try and weaken Villa, they know with the season starting, we will have to bed in another C/H. Good job we've got Lindeloff, who once again can prove just how important a signing he's been. With the goalie, I think it's a case of getting him as cheap as we can, because, if you give it another season, his price would have rocketed.
It is a rebuild, and with what we are doing, the fans won't know half the players. HaHa. If we can keep our core, and more importantly keep them fit, with the kids who've come through, I think we could still give it a go. UTV.
4.) 16 Aug 2026 20:20:12
100% they just do it to weaken their competitors. They could buy from other leagues much cheaper, their big revenues allow them to have pretty much 2 full teams of players who would start on any team outside the top 5 or 6.
Villa and City were the teams who were running Arsenal close until we lost 3 of our midfielders. I know we ended up having a great season, but I'd love to know how it would have panned out without that period where we lost the boys.
28 Aug 2026 22:59:57
He has a medical booked for tomorrow, so hopefully it will go through, as long as he has no underlying issues.
25 Aug 2026 17:12:15
I hope it's not true. I think Emery is probably thinking I will show those Wan***s just how good a manager I am by rebuilding a better side.
He has done exactly that at previous clubs, and I wouldn't bet against him.
My worry is that the owners might just get fed up at not being able to invest in success that they sell up.
25 Aug 2026 14:05:40
Hi 59, I hope so.
I believe in Emery to kick-start our season, but not until after the Arsenal game. I think the team will need to gel under the boss, and then, hopefully, do like last season but with a younger squad.
25 Aug 2026 13:53:47
Passed his medical at 13:00, apparently, so should sign today or tomorrow.
24 Aug 2026 15:45:19
Hi Allstar, I really liked Watkins and always stood by him even when he missed sitters. I now want him out of the door, you don't s*** on your team mates, manager, and especially supporters, when they are up against it.
Let him take the Saudi pennies and play against rich has beens.
30 Aug 2026 19:12:37
With the age of the side, and the cost of established players, this is the way to go.
When you look at last season's players, very few were household names or actually in demand by other clubs. Unai coached the team to achieve. Give him a chance to do it with this younger, and hopefully faster and fitter, bunch of players.
30 Aug 2026 19:09:08
I wonder, if a player handles it in the centre circle and then passes to a forward who scores via a deflection, will that be a goal?
Why do they have to make things difficult?
26 Aug 2026 22:17:13
Hi rp, is Harwood Belles a women's team? Only joking. We know who you mean; it seems to alter every half hour.
25 Aug 2026 17:07:12
Clown World doesn't even come close.
24 Aug 2026 15:28:00
Hi Syston, agree with everything you say except when you say it is a business. Business owners are usually allowed to invest to improve their business, Villa owners aren't allowed to do that.
