Traore confirmed this morning.
Reported on ski.

1.) 19 Sep 2020 08:55:15
Must of read my post yesterday and decided to pull their finger out 😁 also apparently Origi available for £14m certainly worth a punt? Can play centrally or wide and would improve our forward options.

2.) 19 Sep 2020 12:27:21
Good shout Moose, a bargain at that price.

3.) 19 Sep 2020 13:26:03
For 14 million I’d b all over that moose.

4.) 19 Sep 2020 13:37:10
Apparently the BBC are saying Traore is our last bit of business this window unless a “unexpected opportunity” presents itself.

5.) 19 Sep 2020 16:51:57
Utter hogwash, how do they know what our transfer business entails?

6.) 19 Sep 2020 18:57:12
I hope it’s hogwash too Moose, but we seem prepared to accept the rumours they print on the players we are looking to sign quick enough!

7.) 19 Sep 2020 19:42:40
All paper BS, but we follow it anyway in our quest for all things Villa- me included! But we always keep our cards close to our chests, did anyone know anything about the Traore link til it was common knowledge?
We're a bloody impatient bunch 😁.

Glenn Murray for £500000.
He knows where the goal is and use's his brain.
Probably better than any of our strikers, even when they were fit.
Deano lost in jungle of rumoured players, players available, players willing to come to VP.
Are we still being threatened by FFP?
If not why don't the owners do what Man City did and spend the money to get us where they want us to be, top 6 and Euro football.
OR are they waiting to dump Deano to get an international manager before they spend big?

Drinkwater on loan.
This means that we cannot get Batman or Giroud on loan as we have the one from Chelsea we are allowed.
Glenn Murray from Brighton would be a good buy for little money. Scores for fun but only in the champs. Will he work in the prem?
Why are we looking at a guy who has scored 2 goals this season?
We need a goal machine now!
Options will expire if we don't action now.
C'mon Deano, show me your intent!

Theoldvillan

{Ed002's Note - There was never any chance of Giroud or Batshuayi moving to Aston Villa on loan - Giroud will be leaving but only has six months left on his contract.}

1.) 07 Jan 2020 19:26:50
We can still sign them permently thou.

19 Dec 2019 16:50:52
Read a report in a daily this week that stated that we are favourites to sign a 28year old from Vienna.
Hes been scoring regularly and assisting as well. Price about 4.5m euros.
Also looking for a goal getter.
Brighton bought Maupay and now Glenn Murray sits on the bench. He was BHA regular no 9 till Maupay arrived.
Could be an opportunity to pick up an old fashioned 9 but we would have to supply him with the ball infront of goal, not on the wing.

Where you been oldvillan, have missed talking about ass kickers haha.

2.) 22 Dec 2019 16:38:08
Hello Dave, still believe in them especially after yesterday.
Where is the boss man at the back?
Find it all very depressing.
Our manager is failing all over the pitch.
He could have got the players he bought in for the price of drinks down the local.
Many of the players that were told to go could have still been with us when you compare what we have.
Abraham is what we need but alas .

27 May 2019 14:18:27
Today is 27th May.
Our team won the European cup on 26th May 1982.
I will be happy with a repeat of that day.
Cmon, let's get it on.
Posted earlier Good Luck to one and all wearing the famous Claret and Blue.
Bring it home.

AS we are lauding other sporting achievements don't forget, if you even noticed, a young guy Named Tao Gogahan Hart won a 3 week cycle race on Sunday.
3 weeks up and down mountains that many cars would struggle to do. Rain, wind, snow and heat sometimes all on the same day sometimes.
Then next week he is going to go and race somewhere else.
I am a Hamilton fan but we should also pay respect to the sort of effort these guys on bikes put in to reach the top.
Before someone jumps in with "they are all on drugs" remember that they are now tested more often than any other sport and after a day climbing 4 mountains a random check is taken.
When have we read that any F1 driver had to take a test, either blood or urine, after a race.
Hamilton best driver, best car but Jimmy Clark was better!
Clark drove and won in any race in any car, on any surface, not just Grand Prix and on the same day.

1.) 27 Oct 2020 12:01:11
I tend to agree with you Oldvillan, Jim Clark drove real cars, not computers.
I remember his death being announced on Midland Montage, and how it frightened my dear mom at the time, because her cousin was a racing driver also named Jim Clarke.

2.) 27 Oct 2020 15:02:01
When it comes to the GOAT, it’s purely subjective, everybody has got their favourite.
Clark was the best in his era, Lewis is the best in his.

24 Oct 2020 09:07:24
I think that this is a case of divine retribution by Bielsa.
He was a true sportsman when he instructed his team to give away a goal following a questionable piece of play by his team.
What more motivation did his team need to outperform us?
Reality came home and kicked our arse.
It really hurts but the players and manager should file this in their brain for the next game.
Mings and Konsa allowed Bamford all the time that an average striker needs to fill his boots.
This is the guy that got El Ghazi sent off by cheating and should have been disciplined by the authorities for his disgraceful acting.
This game is gone, the next game is around the corner.
AVFC in total must regroup and assess
our errors then ensure we don't believe that overnight we became world class only to find out that there is still work to do.
4 wins, 1 loss against a highly motivated team is not the end of our dreams.
Liverpool had a similar experience and they won't let it hold them back.
We MUST do the same.

Good evening Gentlemen.
Been unable to join in for the past few days and like yourselves I question Southgates decision to leave Jack out.
Most of the real footie fans that know about football are certainly curious about "the waistcoats" selection policy.
What does Jack have to do to get the managers nod? Obviously there are players that Southgate fancies to do a job and would see selecting Jack as being forced by the media to do so.
If we reflect back around 20 years we can find another, similar, situation.
When Ericson was England manager we told him and the media told him that he should include Gareth Barry but he steadfastly refused to do so.
He said that he could not put Barry in the side as he already had Gerard and his favourite Beckham. Beckham did not like Barry and he showed his dislike at VP when he kicked Barry in the air and got booked. As he walked away he went to Barry and had a rant that wasn't just a professional chat. It was quite close to the touchline and could be heard clearly.
I think Barry got a few selections and then the Swede got the elbow and the new manager was quite quick in giving Barry more than a nod.
Sometimes when a manager ignores the people he finds himself the loser.
Southgate rates Rice and Mount and probably sees Jack as competition fod them.
Neither had a game on Wednesday that stood out as anything more than 5 out of 10. Therefore if they get a selection for the next game then they will have to play blinders in the prem.
Personally I would like to see him walk the plank.
Who then would take the reins?
How about Pochetino?
Likes attacking play and is a motivator.
He also is a Jack fan.

So long as the FA don't look to the highest placed English manager, as they like to do.

2.) 17 Oct 2020 00:02:26
Welcome back TOV. Sorry you weren’t able to post for a couple of days. Thank goodness your bail got sorted before the Leicester game 🤣.

Pay to view is wrong as far as I am concerned. Sky etc get enough from the ads during the breaks.
Remember the days when just one game got covered and that was in the evening, not live.
21 games on a Saturday afternoon was all we got. Chance of it being your team was minimal.
No Sunday games, that was a family day, a church day, a day of rest.
No midweek evening games.
NO FLOODLIGHTS
if you want to watch footie 24/ 7 then Sky etc will do it at a cost.
If supporters did not want to watch 24/ 7 than suppliers would not show the games. They only do it for the money.
So talk to the other half or watch a documentary with Attenborough.
Watch Corrie, East Enders or Holly hocks.
Dump the wi. fi, empty your phone contacts, even better turn it off.
Who knows your partner across the living room, politically correct, may be interesting.
Dont pay Sky, save your money.

Theoldvillan

1.) 09 Oct 2020 21:44:56
OV sky make a far far smaller percentage of revenue from advertising, they could not survive or provide anything of quality without subscriptions or pay per view. I smiled at you last paragraph, you have summed up perfectly why I have Sky.

2.) 10 Oct 2020 06:23:30
Its cheaper than a season ticket and you get to watch it week in week out. I on the other hand won't be paying it as i have a big dish on the wall that gets it all an its legal as i pay a subscription. It will do till we can go back to villa park.

3.) 10 Oct 2020 06:26:42
Scotcaffu, you are right but we pay our subscription to watch games and that should cover all games. No Villa fan is going to pay £14.95 extra to watch Wolves v Palace and no Wolves fan is going to pay it to watch other teams so it is aimed at the individual fan who already pays enough.

4.) 10 Oct 2020 10:40:01
So for two games that’s £30, get on eBay and there’s about 15 different IPTV subscriptions for around £25. That’s every sky channel for a year, for £25. The need apps you can use include a VPN so little to any buffering.

Don’t put money in theIt greedy pockets Lads, they just paid £200 million to agents, lower that by 10/ 20% and they could have been charging £5 instead of £15 per game.

5.) 10 Oct 2020 12:03:09
CAVFC, shoplifting is also cheaper than buying and both, last time I looked are illegal. How on earth can businesses survive without paying customers, especially in the current climate when we should be helping the genuine economy through difficult times.

6.) 10 Oct 2020 13:37:30
If the PPV was much lower Sky might get more people to pay.
I might be tempted to watch AVFC if the figure was about £5 but not for any other team.
It is the thin edge of the wedge.
PPV to satisfy hungry fans while the current situation is in place would remain when times improve. Fans would accept it as the norm.
Most temporary measures for many things have remained in place for decades.

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Sky - the broadcasters are simply implementing what the Premier League clubs voted for - it was forced by the PL.} As you say, the pricing the Premier League have agreed to is very high - leading to some clubs voting against it.}

7.) 10 Oct 2020 14:43:07
If you honestly think the premier league are short of a few quid and need supporting at the minute then I don’t see how you could be more out of touch.

Being controversial for the sake of it surely gets tiresome at some point, have a look around, do some research, look at the backlash to this announcement.

Supporting local businesses in the current climate is imperative to helping them survive, let alone get back to some form of normality. Paying £15 to multi billionaires is not. Comparing the two is absolutely mental.

8.) 10 Oct 2020 14:09:17
Aslong as a majority chunk goes to the clubs involved i would have no qualms with buying the odd game for 15 quid. sky etc will be ther recording the action anyway so they shouldn't be charging a hefty whack if its just going into the pockets of the broadcasters. Eds do you know how the money for these games will be broken down? I assume the clubs will be taking profit to make up for the lack of matchday funds.

{Ed002's Note - The broadcasters costs are deducted from whatever income there is and the rest is distributed between the Premier League clubs. There won't be much if any profit as it will be offset against the money the Premier League clubs already owe the broadcasters for the last six months - a total of £330M plus £35M a month until this new scheme starts.}

I awoke this morning and decided that I must have taken too many pills last night.
Some team called Aston Villa beat the current champions by 7 goals to 2 goals.
This must be fantasy time probably caused by the medication yet the papers all reported this result.
If this is correct will someone remind me before the next game to take a double dose?

Get in there my boys!

WE have £24m from the monies stated for getting players into the squad.
Benrahma could be an option at a fare price if Franks would accept £24m.
Generally fees are ridiculous so one last push may secure a player that is/ was coveted by Deano and many on this site.
He is imaginative, quick and scores. What more do we want?
Watkin was a chance that proved right.
Surely worth a dip into the coffers.

I live in the south and this story has a lot going for it locally.
Another story is that the deal is almost done that if we don't get promoted then Jack will be in white next year.
I have told my Spuds mates that he is too good for them.
They tell me that he's not worth £20m.

Many Spuds fans have car reg N17. see if you spot one.

Theoldvillan

{Ed001's Note - Pochettino would love to sign Grealish. The only thing that has stopped it happening is that Levy would never agree the asking price or payment terms.}

Win at the cow shed and we go above BCFC.
Forest and Hull play each other so again a win at the cow shed and we can be in 8th.
GD better than Derby who play Wigan and Wednesday and the way they are going they could lose both so we could go 7th.
Lets believe
Our talisman is back, and did we see a more advanced roll for Hourihane?
Mathematically we are ok, we can make it. Every season we have a dip in form and then we rally.
This season is no different.
WE CAN DO IT, BELIEVE! I DO.

Thats correct.
The worst is still to come.
We are already in debt greater than the end of WW2.
Doubt any of us were about at the end of the 1920's when the world went into reccesion. It took 3 years for recovery to start, but it did and it will again.
As a nation we are far better off than our families in 1930. So We should survive.

The last 2 villa games and the next one have/ will be pay to view.
Why don't we all cancel Sky/ BT and stick with freeview?
The powers that be will certainly take notice if several thousand subscriptions suddenly stop.
30000 Villa, 10000 Baggies, 10000 Wolves and 3 BCFC all blobbing Sky/ BT then around 700000 across the prem cancelling subs equates for about £900m a year.
That would cause a problem.

Its simple. The SU question, it was not a goal.
The whole of the ball has to cross the line and with the ball pressed against the post part of the ball would still be on the line.
No goal.

Southgate does seem to be anti Grealish.
Amazingly Grealish is one of the few players that is known by one word, Jack!
Yes many reports state Grealish but if you talk to other supporters they know who Jack is and who he plays for in the prem.
How about a conspirancy theory?
Jack plays against Belgium, England get mullered, Southgate points out the lack of balls for the forwards, blames Jack for not doing as he (Southgate) instructed.
End of Jack.
Hope not for Southgates sake.
